Paul Golding of Britain First has endorsed Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain

Just gave a talk to a group of sixth formers from a state school in Shropshire. Many questions asked, along the lines of: will the UK rejoin? How can I work for the EU? etc. These young people had their future stolen from them by Brexit, and they want that future back. 💪

Watched the Blair docs. Here's the quote – from Cherie – that has stayed with me:

“He is an amazing politician. As a husband and as a human being, that’s a different matter. But that’s really between me and him.”

What does she *mean*?

This message from the US State Department about "not wanting allies to be shackled by guilt and shame" is a pretty direct call-out to the German far-right argument that Germany has spent too long feeling guilty about the Holocaust, and needs to move on and stop doing remembrance.

I can read about people like John Myatt and David Henty all day long. I recently learned that the man who forged the Hitler Diaries became a celebrity forger after getting out of jail and after he died someone started selling forgeries of his forgeries
27 years ago today, artist John Myatt was sentenced to a year in prison for conspiracy to defraud, after painting around 200 fake works, including Chagalls and Matisses over a period of eight years, which convinced buyers despite usually being rendered in household emulsion mixed with KY Jelly 🧵

Who would have guessed that telling people not to do illegal things isn't actually illegal.
BREAKING on MS NOW:

A federal judge has ruled Pete Hegseth can't penalize Sen. Mark Kelly over that video telling service members they can refuse illegal orders.

Judge Richard Leon blocked the disciplinary action after finding an effort to cut his retirement benefits was likely unconstitutional.

There are EIGHTEEN US States with a lower population than Puerto Rico, contributing over one-third of the membership of the US Senate, and 38 House seats.

You'll be AMAZED to learn how many of those underpopulated regions return Republican lawmakers...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...
🚨BREAKING: Puerto Rico has been part of the United States since 1898, and people still act confused that Puerto Ricans are American.

States that joined after Puerto Rico:
• Oklahoma — 1907
• New Mexico — 1912
• Arizona — 1912
• Alaska — 1959
• Hawaii — 1959

Yet somehow this is still news to folks.

I'd add to @benansell.bsky.social's political analysis here the simple point that a reset here would be *good* for growth and save money.

The settlement proposals are not just morally repulsive and politically self-defeating, but also an act of economic self-harm.
If Starmer wants a reset - and not yet another U-turn when the parliamentary party balks at a policy - here is his chance.
300,000 children face 10-year wait for settled status under UK plans, says IPPR

The consultation closes on Thursday. What is being proposed is dreadful. Can I encourage you to engage with the consultation and put your dissent on record?

Reform banned journalists they dislike from covering their party conference and then Nigel Farage dissembled about it to Congress, so I think we’ve heard quite enough faux free speech bollocks out of them, tbh.
This is pretty menacing.

Sarah Pochin wrote to Bangor's university student run debating society requesting that she attend to "answer questions from students."

When they said "no" Reform rolled all it's tanks onto the lawns and said they'll cut funding to the entire university if they win.
