There is probably more original wood from the USS Chesapeake in a building in Wickham, Hampshire, England than the amount of origninal wood in the USS Constitution in Boston.
The Chesapeake Mill was built of wood from the ship when she was sold and broken up in 1819.

The semester has just wrapped up, so all that’s left is grading the exams. One of the assignments was to translate and analyse a text on the modernisation of the Ottoman fleet in the late 18th c. I’ve actually received some lovely feedback saying it was a really interesting piece.😊

On 13 February 1942 the #royalnavy lost a submarine, HM/Sub Tempest, in an encounter with Italian Spica-class torpedo boat RTp Circe.
