I had a dream that someone had parked a scale replica of the U.S.S. Discovery from 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY on the street outside the house. The replica was still large, so people were worried if it would get a ticket.
The Discovery in 2001 is several hundred feet long.

I remember when I saw SOMETHING’S GOTTA GIVE (cute film), I kind of wished the script Diane Keaton’s character started writing helped her write the more involved, creative script she’d wanted to write. Like, she’d have the romantic situation, she’d write it into a script, & make progress on another.
Any other writers keep a scratch pad script. Like it’s not meant to be a passion script but when you burn out on another idea you go in and play with it?

Call your senators. I don’t care if they’re Republicans, or if a deal has already been reached. Call them anyway, and let them know exactly what you think of what’s happening. Don’t give them a moment’s peace to forget the blood on their hands.

Just got a gift certificate to the used bookstore, which is good timing because they just got something I had to spend it on.

I just left messages for both my senators, Wyden and Merkley, asking them (coherently, I hope) to hold the line.
If your senator is not on that list of cowards, call anyway. Ask them to apply whatever pressure they can to keep the ACA.

I like that Loyal Legion is the one place pre-security here you can get a mug, not a travel cup, of coffee

Safe people know how to handle hearing "no" without losing their sh*t & pivoting to emotional abuse.
No exceptions.

We had a group of people come to the Valet booth, and after they left I asked my co-workers "Were they a comedy troupe?"
This was not complimentary.

re: THE ABYSS (James Cameron, 1989)
Perhaps we really do need another species to come and tell us that we are being stupid, waging wars, accumulating wealth, and stirring up hatred, when we could have housing for everyone, an effective healthcare system, decent incomes, and possibility for our children to live on a healthy planet. 💡😂

I won't say what he said, but it was a pure-crystal example of Scalzi's The Failure Mode Of "Clever" Is "Asshole."
Literally the first thing a guy said to me made me think "wow, he's an asshole." It's not usually that quick.
Not one of our customers, at least.
