resolved: people who insist that all social media sites must be places where users are constantly encountering and arguing with people over fundamental disagreement do so because their actual, real lives are echo chambers where they do not encounter any meaningful difference from day-to-day.

ya know how you notice a pattern when you check the time and it's routinely the same time?

lately it's been 9:11 for me so that's fun

my dearest,

the burden of age rests heavily upon me, and i grow weary of this world and its trappings. much as time came even for the fearsome spinosaurus and carcharodontosaurus to make way for new masters of this world, i fear it has come for me. please tell radiohead and nirvana that i love them

Study shows 75% of people (USA) sometimes or often conceal from others when they’re COVID positive, to avoid it disrupting social interaction. Keep working on normalizing masking, everyone!!! We need it to feel like a normal option, or people won’t do it when they should!
"About 75% reported concealing illness in interpersonal interactions, possibly placing others in harm’s way."

I genuinely think there are an increasing number of people who need their hands held all the way through a story that explains itself perfectly and repeatedly by the end or they become angry and demand to know why it didn’t make sense when really they just don’t know how to pay attention
"The Ending of X...EXPLAINED!" videos are my new cryptid to study. Like, are people that confused by ends of movies all the time that they need an explainer?

...Or is this some kind of "Allow me to flex my media penis, m'lady?" where they assume only THEY "got it"?

Oh, I think I answered myself.

it's really frustrating how people have turned getting covid into a reflection of morality- that covid is something that happens to Bad People and they are a Good Person so they're baffled when they end up getting sick. covid doesn't care who you are, stop going to the club
