Growing up, I had a speech impediment. That caused me to struggle with reading & writing. I hated to read/write at first. Later fell in love with reading & writing & worked hard to overcome my challenges to get to where I am today. Now a published author with more stories to tell

Alyce & Cyle were named after the 1st moon mage Ceyla. With them also being twins, I want them to have similar names lol Anagrams to each other

Then I had Quinn cause it was a gentle name that works with her and her character. Then Milo just sounded like a cool prince name haha

Not really. At least, nothing mentioned in my story. Quinn, Alyce, & Cyle are all from poverty. They wouldn't have access to anything like that. Milo is royalty. In the story, he doesn't wear any make up or paint, but I wouldn't be surprise if he had in the past. Just light makeup for parties

Does your MC wear makeup or paint?

Thalia wears bold makeup for her stage acts and a muted look for a party, but she prefers to be plain faced for most of her day to day activities.

Omeran culture doesn't have war paint, but I'm sure they have grease paint for war.

In Secrets of Magic series, I have 4 core characters. Alyce, Cyle, Milo, & Quinn. They are pretty much together constantly or at least split up for the story like in book 2 where Milo is being held captive & you read parts of his time while everyone else is lost in a forest lol

In book 3, Drune makes the joke about how Milo should name his sword, which only wields for him, Excalibur. And who knows! Maybe it's actually Excalibur :3

Fortitude’s Prize by Ceril N Domace A sailing ship with a man in the rigging Flying toward a floating island and surrounded by flying fish Interlude 1 My first adventure on board the privateer Vulturnus, under Captain Mahaut Proulx, began when we were hired by the master of Fortitude Citadel to retrieve some of his stolen property. At the time, of course, we had no way of knowing what would come of this adventure, or perhaps Captain Proulx would’ve refused the letter of engagement despite the wishes of our engineers. The master of Fortitude Citadel, which was the largest and most profitable of the fortresses in the Flying Isles, is a person of great and noble stature. In ordinary circumstances, he never would’ve stooped to hire a crew such as ours. The Vulturnus was a fine ship, but the master had numerous larger and faster ships in his fleet. I have been led to believe that our hiring was a matter of chance, the whims of the oracle bones, and the desires of a mourning sister. In addition, the property that was stolen was of such worth that Master Thaddeus did not wish the theft to be widely known, and commissioning a vessel such as the Vulturnus would downplay the value of what had been taken. Knowing that the dangers associated with the voyage have now passed, readers would still be wise to remember that we had no way of knowing what would come of this adventure . . .

Quinn has the most love to give. She has the biggest heart out there. She loves her friends, family, & even strangers. Will drop anything & everything to help others. She even tries to be somewhat kind to the villains (To an extent)

Alyce & Cyle were always homeless. They lived in camps that constantly moves around to stay hidden. They were always hunted down, so they were always on the move.

Quinn never had a home on her own as a servant. Just lived in the masters' residence

My 1st story i ever written was in the 4th grade. A short little story about kids time traveling. Then in middle school, I really got into writing fanfiction. In high school, I continued to write fanfics & started my novels. Been writing since then

Frontier Shrine When men began to rise from death, they were taken and sent out into the unexplored realms of the continental interior. There they wandered and eventually settled, beyond life and humanity. But alas, their curse followed them and took root in the earth, creating sparse lands of tireless winds and ashen mountains. The Undead venerated no gods of living men, gods who had abandoned them, but were desperate to hold fast and minimize their suffering. So they held communion with whatever forces they could beckon in the cold lands, building grim shrines of cyclopean stone and carving faceless idols, wherein dwelt things with no names, who began to demand vile offerings. The Undead could not be destroyed, but for every reanimation, they retained less and less of their corporeal forms. Their zeal for sacrifice, in exchange for promised powers and reinstated life, but rarely delivered, ultimately created a land of hollow ghosts. Eventually, the Frontier was all but abandoned and only the darkly curious would venture out into the sere wastes. Those who returned whispered fearfully that whatever the Undead had called down still remained in the deserted frontier, a place now home only to a race of enslaved phantoms. Crystal Abyss Far to the south, there lies a range of vast mountains who peaks touch the celestial Upper Air. Far beneath the two highest summits however, leading deep into the earth, is a steep valley that suddenly opens up at its darkest reaches. This new passage is studded for leagues with singing crystals that thrum with a curious energy and soft light. At a point, the earth and rock ends, and one’s path is made entirely of crystal slopes and steps, which seem to the astute observer cunningly fashioned rather than of natural growth. Descending into the sunless, shimmering depths, one comes to a tall cavern and there is revealed to them a strange vision. An ancient race of beings lies entombed within crystal sarcophagi, serene and still, lining the walls and ground. Through the distortion of the crystal, it can be seen that they resemble us in some superficial way. It should be noted that striking these tombs elicits a shrill and immensely unpleasant tone, a tone that feels to all who hear it, like an alarm. And yet there is more, for beyond the long hall of crystal graves there is an immense set of irregular steps, now plainly shaped by hand, or grown. At the end of a three day descent, there is a change in the air, the singing dims, stops, and before them lies a vastness of dark. The steps continue until, at a point, they don’t, and the wanderer finds themselves surrounded on all sides by what seems to be nothing less than the infinite expanse of the night sky, perforated with silent stars. No further progress can be made here, and a long trek in silence must be made back out, for after glimpsing this, the crystals stop singing. Sages who have ventured deep within and studied the stars in that dark say they are like no constellations of the world above, and guess either the entombed old ones happened upon the cosmos of the underworld, or perhaps sit now as eternal guardians of the place from which they once emerged.
