About the author and their books: (There is a portrait of me with anime blush lines, a happy yellow sun) My name is Rebecca E. Reyes and I am an author, artist, parent, and I have a great sense of humor, especially in regards to my autism in my mid 30's. This portrait doesn't set the tone in my books, but it does reflect me when I feel cute (2 years ago). Right now I have my acne from when I was 15... All four of my books in both my book series with descriptions. --- The Sarcophagus of Lamia The Sarcophagus of Lamia Book 1 has a blonde woman in a red velvet lined escape pod, with a silver implant in her hair. The Sarcophagus of Lamia Book 2: Soul Survivor, has a red power core (a glowing orb) surrounded by filigree. The series description is: Deep space cyberpunk thriller novelettes with beautiful adaptations of famous monsters in a bleak, caste ruled setting. We follow the skeleton crew of the lab ship, Magpie, as they hit hard times and brush with corporate oligarchies' law enforcement. They take odd jobs and survive gruesome encounters, but they do it together! --- Sigils Sigils of Malice's cover has a magical blue beetle walking on a machine powered by a sparking crystal. Sigils of Blight's cover is of a lantern with a blue fire in the jungle. The series description is: Science fantasy thriller novels within a gilded theocrasy, wearing 1910's pseudo-cyberpunk glitz. "Those are words." - My Husband Thalia Clayton, an uncouth crossdressing showgirl, without magic, tries to protect her family from powers above her head. Unfortunately, everyone she loves is mixed in with conspiracies. After many reluctant partnerships and tested loyalties, it's a good thing she knows many necromancers and priests. Getting out alive may not be an option.

His fantasy, Rescue from the Orc Fortress, is short, but it has a fun opening with holograms shooting arrows!

Yes! It was just one chapter. By the time I get to Chapter 3, I usually know if I'm going to finish a story or not. The first sentence does not need to snag me.

Even books I'm not into and put down, I'll try to come back to later. Especially if I like the concept behind it.

I'm not a ranter when it comes to other authors books. Talking about what I dislike is something I grew out of in my early 20's (Mostly...).

Beginnings I like showcase our protagonist(s) and their world. The actual story can start in chapter 2. I don't mind. Prologues are great!

Funny you should ask. Sigils doesn't have dinosaurs like we have them, but there are fossils in the Overworld.

Hanging in Dragonheart University is a petrified forest dragon skeleton from millions of years ago. Dragons still exist in the world.

She's supposed to be the goddess, Omera, from my Sigils books, but just like my writing, the doodle got away from me.

My kid is so lucky. I started picking up all the toys in the living room after their bedtime and each object reminds me of a game we play.

Love my kid. Getting sick almost monthly is so worth it if it means smashing monster rucks into block piles and bowling pins for the next few years.
