ICE has been verified in Rogers Park today - sharing this again.
I'm heading to the burbs today and refreshing myself on SALUTE. ICE hasn't been spotted as much in the city but has been very present in the suburbs.

🚨TONIGHT’S PROTEST IN MINNEAPOLIS IS INSANE:

CNN is STUNNED. Share this widely!

“I've covered many protests… I've not seen a crowd like this before.” It’s 8 degrees. “It is freezing, but nothing, nothing is stopping these people.”

This isn’t a rally. It’s a movement. @calltoactivism.bsky.social

Would be curious from those who know DOJ history better to know how often historically the AG has personally signed an indictment.
Looks like every DOJ lawyer who signed the Don Lemon indictment is a political appointee.

The march is now passing by Trump Tower in Chicago, which sits north across the river.

I want everyone to appreciate how cold out it is: the river surface is frozen over.

A massive shoutout to everyone who called their senator this week.

They wouldn’t have done this without public pressure. And they may need more two weeks from now. But this is exactly what we need.
Thank you @democrats.senate.gov for voting unanimously for Senator Sanders’ Amendment to strip ICE of BBB funding. Can you please demand the Sanders Amendment as a condition to fund DHS now that you’ve successfully separated it from the larger spending package?

The march in Chicago has continued on past Trump Tower and is turning back south into downtown.

The snow is coming down hard now.

As it does, the column chants, "say it once and say it twice, we do not fuck with ICE"

It's near-white out conditions in Chicago as the snow comes down, and tonight's anti-ICE/CBP rally is wrapping up in front of city hall.

But not before the crowd bounces and chants, "I believe that we will win!"

Very important vote. It makes repealing ICE surge funding the mainstream position in the party, with bipartisan support.
👀 Every Senate Democrat + Collins and Murkowski just voted for the Bernie Sanders amendment to repeal the $75 billion in additional ICE funding under Trump’s “big beautiful bill.” The measure failed 49-51.

The anti-ICE/CBP rally in Chicago's Daley Plaza has grown significantly in just the last half hour.

The crowd is spilling out into street; I'd say there's over a thousand people here at this point.

We found black mold behind the dishwasher a few weeks ago. Had mold remediation out earlier this week and they found the leak. Had the plumber out today.

Hopefully this saga will be over within next week and I can finally get my new dishwasher.

Absolutely fucking wild that this is now libcoded.
even if it isn't a bluff, "getting arrested on a bullshit pretext by a brutal government" was in fact one of the recurring tactics of the civil rights movement!

Many people are asking "why don't other politicians do this" and the answer is BECAUSE they don't want you to understand this shit and they want you to just trust they know what they're doing when they're secretly fuck you over. Look at the funding bill!
The City’s Budget is our future. And you deserve to know how it works.

one of the reasons I think it's hard to believe Catherine O'Hara died is because she was this super rare combination of both poise and chaotic energy and so she didn't seem to have a physical age; she was just oscillating between 40 and 17 and 60 at all times.

Noooooo. Not Catherine O'Hara.

Genuinely, a comedy genius. No one approached a line or a scene the way she did. Brilliant from day one on SCTV. No matter how celebrated she was at times, I feel like it was never enough.

Absolute legend. I love her so much. I will miss her desperately.

I would beseech the national media to stop writing sentences like one I just read that said basically "ICE's time in Minnesota is almost up." That is NOT an established fact. Please do not turn away. Please check the readily available information from people on the ground and local journalists.
From everything I’m hearing and reading, nothing in the ground in the Twin Cities has meaningfully changed.

It worked this way with elected officials too. They started with Black politicians.
Arresting Black journalists is also vice signaling. Their base is racist and hates journalists and they want to get them excited again. The mainstream media industry has never protected Black journalists or journalists of color the way it should.
