ICE has been verified in Rogers Park today - sharing this again.
I'm heading to the burbs today and refreshing myself on SALUTE. ICE hasn't been spotted as much in the city but has been very present in the suburbs.

Don Lemon was arrested for covering a peaceful protest as a journalist, in direct violation of the First amendment.

This is a national emergency. Without the freedom of press to hold our government accountable, we lose even more power.

I was sent this video of agents at her door:

We already have a warrant requirement. It's called the US Constitution. If that's not fucking binding them, what the hell does your little agreement mean?
Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals:

° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement

° Create a code of conduct and enforce it

° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks
Democrats demand new ICE restrictions as government shutdown looms
After federal agents shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, Senate Democrats say they’ll block a massive government funding package without policy changes.

DHS has a whole citizen detainment system set up in Minnesota. They snatch citizens off the street (often with proof they are citizens), detain them for a few hours, steal their phones, then release them into the cold.

It ain’t about deporting citizens; it’s about terrorizing a whole population.
‘Abolish ICE’ has become an increasingly popular position and people are being shot in the streets over it why the fuck would you dillweeds roll over like this. Especially given that citizenship is much more friable than people think it is this is not as protective as dems want it to look.

The only acceptable number of children for any government to kidnap and traffic and cage is zero, every year
The number of children in ICE detention on a given day has skyrocketed, jumping more than sixfold since the start of the second Trump administration. We analyzed data obtained by the Deportation Data Project and found that ICE held around 170 children on an average day under Trump.

With a six-fold jump in children in detention, advocates allege harrowing conditions are putting kids’ lives at risk.

I keep coming back to this clip as a symbol of the Democratic Party’s challenges. Murphy correctly says ICE “is not about safety or immigration, but a pretext for Trump to take over.”

Given this fact, Democratic leadership’s reform and fund plan makes no sense.
Pam Bondi just sent a letter to Minnesota officials saying ICE will leave if the state turns over its voter database to Trump.

Guess what? This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states.

Many will describe this as a win for Senate Democrats.

But it is a squander. They have so much leverage, and what they got is very little. ICE and DHS will continue to operate unchanged. How many more will be killed, how many kids kidnapped?

It is a betrayal of the brave people of Minneapolis.
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

This, together with Homan's "in theater" comment today, shows that the federal government believes they are at war.

With the American people. They are levying war on the American people.

That is treason.

Impeachment is what's required by the Constitution. It's the beginning of accountability.

I’ve been getting a lot of messages thanking me for talking about policy and legislation.

That is the bare minimum.

The sole reason a Member of Congress exists is to introduce legislation, write policy, and make it law. That’s it. That’s the job.

If you aren’t doing that, get out of office.

ICE is upset that ICE isn't welcome in restaurants after ICE ordered food at a restaurant, ate it, then arrested restaurant employees, and ICE believes this is someone else's fault, do I have that right?

ICE's decision to just leave cars abandoned in the roads is one of those dystopian things that makes you recoil in shock when you encounter it.
A legal asylum-seeker who works at Chipotle and plays music at a church in Maine went missing. His pastor searched and searched, eventually finding his abandoned car with the keys on the floor.

ICE grabbed him. No criminal record. No explanation.
