RFK Jr. ordered the CDC to terminate their flu vaccination ad campaign immediately after taking office.

Just in case anyone was curious about his silence in the face of what is emerging as an unusually severe flu season and why he’s not out encouraging vaccines.

One of the little joys of extended family Christmas is finding out my cousin is raising his daughters to love Dolly and Stevie as much as I do. Christmas morning kid karaoke for the win ♥️

Anyone have good strategies for getting parents away from Facebook's AI slop videos? (No, getting them off Facebook is sadly not an option.)

Fall 2025 is officially in the books!

Ended the semester with lovely student conferences - I got to tell students everything they're doing well, & we had great discussions about tweaks for making my D2L even more usable.

Now, on to re-reading my texts for spring's graphic novels class!

What's ominous is all of the trusted women of color who know a lot about AI are saying that a crash is on the way and the white guys are pretending they are taking it to the moon. This means that a crash is definitely on its way.

My allergy doctor apologized to me today for continuing to have me do weekly shots.

Normally, folks would be on a twice-a-month maintenance shot schedule at this point. Me? I still have a good six months or more to go. I really am just that allergic to *everything* in the natural world 🤧

I already responded to this once, but another point that I think is just so important for currently abled folks to understand is that if something needs to be changed so that disabled people can use it, it wasn't made correctly from the beginning. Universal access isn't just for physical structures.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
