Typos are killing me tonight, but at least I’m not being dragged from my home and disappeared.

Pigments 1 (2018) was my first synth, and dynamic parameters spoiled me for life. Its utilitarian interface + functionality is an evolving work of art, a testament to the brilliance of Arturia's strategic planning. Every update feels like a gift. It’s Version 6 now. The only cult I refuse to leave.
Went a *little* long yesterday reviewing/touring Pigments, but in my defense:

1) It's a BIG, complex synth
2) I really love the hell out of it and have a lot to say

Anyway, if you have 90 minutes and want an intro to your next favorite synth, here ya go:

This song is cool enough to make an atheist an agnostic - or, yes, even a Christian - and there is a virtual certainty it happened more than once and probably still does. I mean, come on. Minor notes on a fuzzed-out Telecaster? Anything can happen.
Born 20 Nov 1942 - Norman Greenbaum, singer/songwriter, guitarist, and 1 hit wonder with the single 'Spirit In The Sky'. Reprise released the record in late 1969, and it skyrocketed to #1 in almost all worldwide markets. It sold 2 million copies in 1970, and received a gold disc. #NormanGreenbaum

This takes “terracing” to a whole new level. New to us, anyway. Our ancestors were well-acquainted with it.

The Information Age includes ubiquitous misinformation and disinformation largely because Humanity's greatest conceit lies in the presumption we understand what intelligence is.
Intelligence is no longer tied to the ability to get informed. It’s drifting away from truthfulness. We’re told the issue is stupid people being misinformed. It isn’t. When intelligent people are widely misinformed, the culture is in deeper trouble.

Generalism and metaphors have their limitations, but good luck finding them here.
These people combine the competence of a concussed ferret with the ethics of a rabid one.

It wasn’t long ago referring to conservatives as “Nazis" elicited scowls and howls from party loyalists on both sides of the political spectrum. Of course, “both sides" isn’t much of a spectrum, is it. Institutionalism has its drawbacks, institutional collapse being the most conspicuous.

Maybe Democrats won’t censure Al Green for doing what they refuse to do: uphold their oath of office. Don't count on it, though.
Al Green just announced he’ll be introducing articles of impeachment to the House on this shortly.

Supporting human rights does not pose a moral, political or spiritual dilemma for anyone who understands their own humanity.🌏🕊️
On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

Senator Wyden’s “EPSTEIN BOMBSHELL” thread, and no doubt the report from which it is derived, begs the following [compound] question: WHAT DID THE SENATE INTEL COMMITTEE KNOW, AND WHEN DID IT KNOW IT?

Don’t just settle for the low-hanging fruit. See the evidence through to its logical conclusion.

Young Choreographers by Jack Mitchell, January 1969:

Meredith Monk, Yvonne Rainer, Don Redlich & Twyla Tharp

Choreographers seem to be long-lived: Monk is 83, Rainer is 90 & Tharp is 84. I couldn't track down much information about Redlich, but he was born in 1933.

People come & go, but Culture is not so easily or readily dismissed or changed. This is something to bear in mind when The Dictator and The Regime are no longer in power. United Statists have demonstrated precious little courage in evaluating the conditions which led to a White Ethno Terror State.

“With friends like these, who needs enemies?”
These 20 House Democrats just joined Republicans in voting to fully repeal DC's police reform laws.

Wiping off the books critical laws on use of force, transparency, and preventing violent cops from getting rehired.

They think that they should have more say over DC police than the people of DC.

Today there was an attempted ICE raid in Bensonhurst & community members showed up. Even though NYPD collaborated with ICE by trying to disburse the crowd; community members stood their ground & ICE left without kidnapping a single person per the rapid response groups I'm on. We protect us!

Revealing comments, too. Trees do not get the respect they deserve.
As winter flooding looms, it's worth noting that a young street tree in an asphalt surface can prevent 60% of the rain that falls on it from reaching the ground, even when not in leaf.

Increasing the low levels of urban tree cover should be a strategic national priority.

Technology facilitates exploitation, not because technology is inherently exploitative, but because, absent Awareness, human beings are.

The greater our disconnection from Nature, inside and outside, the more tragic the result. The World as we know it - and are it - is a testament to this dynamic.
It occurs to me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, that what is happening with the ultra rich oppressing and exploiting everyone else is a mirror of what humans have done to the earth.

Reminiscent of “Check's in the mail,” and “Can’t guarantee I remembered the stamp."
So per NVIDIA's earnings, it appears that NVIDIA has *agreed* to invest in Anthropic, but its investment in OpenAI is a "letter of intent with an opportunity to invest." Very strange!

Robert George’s cognitive dissonance is deeply disturbing. This is a man who doesn’t know who or what he is; one ill-equipped to distinguish between Power and Truth. His “philosophy” and “scholarship” serve powerful institutions - the ones crumbling all around us as they invalidate themselves daily.

Appropos of nothing, I think a 6 to 12-month moratorium on plugin purchases is in my best interest. Novelty rarely works to greater effect than Limitation. Interesting paradox. Besides, I don’t have money to burn, but I do have a Behringer Neutron, Model D and other hardware awaiting reignition.
