Viral posts about how Moms For Liberty had zero wins on election night...aren't true. They're misinformation, even dis-info.

M4L did have a number of school board candidates win. You can verify that information pretty easily.

They had *A LOT* of losses and their power isn't what it once was.

Once again, Bumgarner did it first. And better that time, too.

Wait, you’re telling me the team that spent a literal billion dollars is going to win again?

Damn, that’s crazy

This applies to YA lit that’s actually meant for teen readers (as opposed to BookTok), as well.
as someone who loves to indulge in media meant for kids, a pet peeve is critics of that media who don't seem to understand the target audience IS kids and what kids are like

"why are we making yet another 'racism is bad' movie" Cuz this might be the first one 6yo Billy has ever seen, dipshit

There was a threat at my child’s elementary school today.

Just putting that out there, in case someone was expecting some manner of performance from me right now.

The infuriating thing about this is that it’s very easy to teach kids about this.

“Enslaved women were forced to have babies against their will, and then their babies were taken from them.” Perfectly understandable to a grade schooler, and doesn’t soften any of the moral horror.

One of the things that has pretty annoying is that if you have any kind of bullshit meter, if you have anything inside of yourself that doesn’t enjoy being lied to, the last couple of years of almost every area of public life have been driving you up a fucking wall

They don’t even mention Penny Arcade’s Acquisitions Incorporated, the progenitor of the phenomenon they’re writing about. It’s an actual-play that has its own licensed D&D book.

This might seem silly to be mad about, but it’s illustrative of why I haven’t trusted NPR for political news in years.

In the past decade or so, actors and comedians have adopted D&D as a performance medium. Podcasts and web series have expanded into stadium tours – and fueled growing interest in the game more broadly.
It started with friends at home. Now Dungeons & Dragons is in its stadium era.

What’s really painful about this moment is that anybody who actually believed all of these people who supposedly committed to building a better world five years ago are getting hurt first and most viciously.

We’ve created a generation of people who will never believe that again.

Free childcare. Extended (year-plus) paid parental leave. Free and comprehensive healthcare. Better schools. Cheaper college. Cheaper housing.

lol it's not rocket surgery. And you will never achieve it. Because you don't want to.

Because we’re against it.

BECAUSE WE’RE AGAINST IT.

Listen to this fucking gremlin laugh about denying education to disabled children.
Jessica: When I hear Republicans out there talking about their plan for education in America, I don't hear them talking about making sure disabled kids have access to a public education.

Greg: Because we're against it.

Many authors are getting their books — their art — banned by people who know nothing about the purpose of art, people who care nothing about the meaning of novels. I guarantee you none of these authors believe getting banned is a badge of honor. It’s an insult, every time.
