Me, reading and studying history: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!!

Me, realizing I am living through a historical event: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.

This is absurd to me. I have a plate that works, auto-arranger, of 49 whistles and I haven’t thought about it for the last 2000 whistles.
January 13, 2026 at 11:04 PM
Never once had that problem and I use the Bambu slicer all the time as a fabricator.
January 13, 2026 at 10:19 PM
You should just auto arrange. It will not put them too close together. I print 49 on a plate of the maker world flat whistle model, using “fill plate with copies”.
January 13, 2026 at 4:11 PM
No this one is not the best, uses too much filament. You want the flat whistle from maker world, I’ve printed thousands and its faster/just as loud/cheaper.

I’d be happy to ship you some. I run a workshop in NYC with lots of 3D printers and have been supplying local organizers around here. Feel free to DM or email at ari@deskjob.org!

When you're at the "functionally infinite money" income bracket your value heuristic changes to value things you can't get normally with money, which includes a lot of things deemed immoral and/or illegal

It's no surprise that Big Tech looks the other way w/r/t CSAM unless called out

it is rational behavior once you realize that the marginal value of a billion and one dollars is actually zero relative to one billion dollars, whereas sexual access to one's subordinates is something they highly value
I also previously thought amoral but rational capitalists used rubes by cynically deploying vicious / silly right wing ideologies. But I now think I underestimated how many true believers there are, some of the previously rational got internet brain poison, and there's been change in who's in power.
i had sincerely thought that sexism was a dying prejudice because, in all honesty, up until 2025 i also sincerely believed on at least some level that powerful capitalists with rational but amoral priorities controlled everything and understood the value women bring to the workforce

Congratulations to all the bankers, hedge-fund managers, private-equity honchos, tech titans, corporate executives and op-ed writers for backing the man who will do more to undermine the system that made them insanely wealthy than any other presidential candidate in their lifetimes.
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said the US central bank had been served grand jury subpoenas from the Justice Department threatening a criminal indictment, a dramatic escalation of the Trump administration’s attacks on the Fed.

Also are you dense? Obviously she is a carpetbagger, moving into a town she has no connection to as an opportunistic self-promoter. Be so fucking for real, you aren’t a serious person.
January 8, 2026 at 7:29 PM
All optimized for her own image, that doesn’t surprise me at all. Where’s her community organizing or local representative experience when the camera’s not following her as a brand? Oh yeah, none, she thinks she deserves congress as her first job.
January 8, 2026 at 7:28 PM
I know the modern meaning of it, and it applies to a woman who doesnt even live in the district she’s running to represent. Fuck off to your performative politicians, I’m sure their complete lack of hob experience outside self-promotional social media shit will do them great!
January 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
I’m comfortable not being a fun hang for guys like you
January 8, 2026 at 5:51 PM
And what work has Kat done to address issues like that seriously? Become a twitch streamer and be a carpetbagger?
January 8, 2026 at 5:50 PM
Ah yes, influencers are the answer. Shallow influencers and consumer culture got us here too, goofball.
January 8, 2026 at 12:36 PM
her primary hat is influencer, and I’m tired of performance and promotion in general being more important than expertise or experience
January 7, 2026 at 8:52 PM
I mean, more than Kat has done to affect the material world and not just shamelessly self-promote be so fucking for real with me
January 7, 2026 at 5:13 PM
wow influencer knows how to make video, that’s been her only real job
January 7, 2026 at 5:02 PM

I am really not interested in listening to anyone who has been a lifelong diehard Republican cheering the likes of Reagan, George W. Bush and even Trump himself suddenly shrug “my bad” and then start trying to run OUR (very generally speaking) show. Get down into the mines and do penance a while.

what shitty analysis of our current situation. the world is captured by evil American billionaires and this person thinks the power lies with the people? holier-than-thou dunce, we’re going to need more global cooperation and less blame to solve this. but that wouldn’t be as good for your engagement

I’ve been using Nomad Sculpt and it feels so much more intuitive than Blender, especially because I’m not planning on any animations/scene rendering and just creating 3D printable models
