Straight and plain works best. Non-apology 'apologies' belong in the bin.
One of my resolutions for 2026 (which I’ve already put to the test a few times) is “no longer accepting non-apologies.”

“I’m sorry you feel that way”.

Apologize for what you did, not how I feel about it. My feelings are mine to deal with.

“I’m sorry if i hurt you.”

No, not “if”. “That”.

And they should all show up on the iPlayer for 30 days or so.

A Matter of Life and Death is a film that shows just how astounding P&P could be. A call for Anglo-American postwar consensus, a metaphysical essay on what it means to be alive. And a romance.

(I cry at the opening scene every time.)
BBC2 is REALLY spoiling us today:
I Know Where I’m Going!

It’s like I’ve curated a rainy Saturday afternoon film festival of my own.

Marcel Proust, whose novel In Search of Lost Time is known for a scene in which the narrator dips a madeleine into a cup of tea, originally wrote the scene featuring tea and a slice of bread-and-butter. His editor persuaded him to change it. Proust's most famous scene was introduced by his editor.

My local wool shop has a service where you go in, buy a ravelry pattern through them, and they print it.

Got this pattern yesterday, resulting in a long, quiet conversation with others in the shop about finding ways to not feel helpless in the face of <waves>everything.
lots of creators on Ravelry (not Etsy) are passing on all sale proceeds to immigration aid foundations.

the Melt the ICE hat has raised $125,000

do not buy these patterns from other vendors (Etsy) who are stealing, reposting, and profiting off of other's good work.

I mean, the idea that there’s ANYONE in Casvegas, regardless of their views, who wants to see a puff-piece documentary about Melania Trump is a bit risible.

But this is still funny.
I hope the reporter made these calls with an audience.

Fascinated to know where the ‘no it’s not Fascism’ crowd stand after the last two weeks, with the kidnap of Liam Ramos, the murder of Renee Good and now Alex Pretti, a 37 yr old ICU nurse who worked with veterans.

He was shot nine times while helping a woman who had been pepper sprayed.

Nine.
