Greetings and blessings to Muslim friends as you begin Ramadan tonight; may it bring you a sense of closeness to God and to your community. This year Christians will be a day behind you; we begin Lent tomorrow. Ramadan has a bit more 'oomph' than Lent, though!

I just want to say again: Anglocatholicism is NOT in vestments, music, or esthetics. It’s 100% in the theology. You can have a charismatic charism and have an Anglo-catholic ethos. You can also be a high dry American Missal substitutionary atonement with a fiddle back, ad orientem & Protestant. ⚓️

*stares in Dietrich Bonhoeffer and all the Lutherans and other Christians murdered by the Nazis*
Antisemitic Christian nationalist pastor Joel Webbon gripes that the United States sided with the communists in Russia during WWII instead of backing the "Christian nation" of Nazi Germany, likening it to the crowd freeing Barabbas while condemning Jesus to death in the Gospels.

Donald Trump has turned America into a violent fascist kleptocracy. But the NFL just forced some culturally unfamiliar music upon me. I have never felt more politically homeless.

We celebrated the Presentation today at the parish I presently attend. The previous parish I attended would have celebrated Septuagesima, the Third Sunday before Lent, today if they still existed.
