"Opposition is a defined constitutional role - not something you can just claim... It is utterly depressing to see all media cover Farage's shadow-shadow cabinet nonsense as if it is of any consequence or has any substance. I might as well announce my Bermondsey Olympics team for Los Angeles 2024."
🪦 The Shadow Cabinet of Dr. Caligari 🦇

As the UK economy wobbles and global headwinds persist, Farage cosplays having a cabinet.

And it’s about time the government got off X and considered banning his racist bollocks.
Elon Musk is talking about Nigel Farage's Reform Party: he says Reform are trying to eradicate white people in Britain.

He is a radicalised + increasingly racist lunatic - obsessed with theories of white racial extinction + promoting the idea of civil war in Britain

🇪🇺 "In recent years to see the London Stock Exchange on its knees, to see good jobs lost, actually losing out in a way we could never have imagined to competitors in Europe."

🫠 Can anyone think of a major political event that made the British economy less attractive - maybe around 2016?

Fgs @lbc.co.uk the Reform Party Ltd is not the official opposition, Farage can call his pretendy wee appointments Shadows if he likes but you and the rest of the media are doing yourselves and us a disservice by going along with this claptrap. Update your website please.

On top of this, it really risks tipping Reform into a US oriented, Christian nationalist, socially conservative party in a way that is uncomfortable for a lot of UK voters. The question is if those voters notice or care.
Reform’s new “head of policy” has said Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a “regional Slavic conflict”.

He added: “It is a conflict happening in the world that I don’t care very much about.”

Since 1952, no incoming Tory Govt. left office with defence spending above the level of when it came in. It destroys the myth that the Tories are the champions of the military. They are the people that actually degrade it, over and over again.

there are reports from liam's father that he can't sleep at night and wakes up screaming for his dad. todd lyons i hope you die scared and alone.
Lyons says ICE agents actually "took care" of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos when they detained him, before shipping him off to a horrific Texas ICE facility.

He says ICE officers "comforted him" as they chased his dad, put him in their car to play "his favorite music, then took him to McDonalds."

I naively believed the i Paper to be neutral. I took out a cheap subscription to read Ian Dunt s comments, but oh my God, they are really, no better, and in some ways is worse than The Times in constantly kicking this government for everything.

I’d like to think that this is bad editing by The i Paper. The woman has lived in Germany for 40 years. Surely she doesn’t kill herself a fucking expat?

Seems likely.
Correct me if I’m off-base here, bluesky historians, but it seem to me that by the time they’re out of power, this regime will have—by some distance—killed more human beings around the world than any U.S. government since World War II.
As a direct result of the obscene actions of Russell Vought and Elon Musk in destroying USAID, we can expect “at least 9.4 million additional deaths by 2030, if the current funding trend continues.

About 2.5 million of those deaths are projected to be children under the age of 5.”
