I will not be watching or reading any "analyses" about the Democratic party in D.C. I know all about them & their complicity. I'm not interested and I choose to reclaim my time and attention.
There're other kinds of politics to engage & most importantly to do (including in our local communities).

Rather productive morning writing maybe a third of my chapter for the autoethnographic Asian women scholar book. I can definitely finish this before the new year if I pace it a page a day before then…

My friend, a deaf interpreter, and I have been having conversations about what effective interpretations between US-born and “international deaf” look like and we conclude that this means the interpreters, especially DIs, must be fluent in both the source and target language/language varieties.

Unconsciously reaching for texts on postcolonial interpreting studies during my free time makes me realize where one of my passions truly lies. This, similarly to my piano/organ playing, is not something I’d ever capitalize on. Let’s detach from the modern compulsion to monetize hobbies.

I shouldn't be so surprised at people still navel-gazing in their work and lives and being apolitical when literally earth-shattering things like this are happening more frequently now. My family is sitting tight in Manila, waiting for The Big One to hit.
