Most, probably, of our decisions to do something positive, the full consequences of which will be drawn out over many days to come, can only be taken as a result of animal spirits ...

This is a pet peeve of mine, too. We should either have multiple HOFs for different genre's or rename the Rock 'n Roll HOF to recognize that it's now more inclusive.
Gene Simmons Blasts the Hall of Fame for Honoring Hip-Hop: 'It Doesn't Speak My Language'
Kiss frontman Gene Simmons has again fired shots at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for inducting hip-hop artists like N.W.A and Grandmaster Flash.

Your regular reminder that John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch are corrupt Christian nationalists who have used SCOTUS to undermine our democracy.

Do not elect a single Democrat who does not pledge to expand and fix the Court.

Privatizing public goods has always been a scam
"As past and present experience has shown, public power is cheaper and more reliable than the aptly-named IOUs and bad actors like PG&E have shown utility ownership is more than just a question of dollars, cents, and market efficiencies." www.liberalcurrents.com/the-liberal-...
The Liberal Case for Public Power
When power is treated as a public good, it becomes cheaper, more reliable, and better positioned to meet the challenges of the future than privately held electrical utilities have ever demonstrated.

There is literally no better example of textbook fascistic thinking than "Who cares about human rights when the rich are doing so very well"
Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

The fact that Democrats aren't threatening revolution due to the lack of accountability for this murder shows they are complicit

We're about to find out the regime put Grok in charge of our airspace
The FAA is closing the airspace around El Paso International Airport in Texas for 10 days, grounding all flights to and from the airport, for “special security reasons."

The FAA's notice did not provide additional details.

big reason why the oligarch class went so hard for Trump. they HATE lots of job creation because when your workers can quit and get another one the next day, it's much harder to abuse them
With revisions, the +130,000 jobs in January is actually the best of the Trump's term. He didn't have a single month over +100,000 in 2025, with 3 months of job losses.
Also Biden is no longer the only president ever to have positive jobs numbers every month of his tenure. Jan '25 is now negative.

I think a LOT of people are underestimating how AI could be used to create lots of little businesses that could bring down these large companies.

The fact that these guys think all of this stuff is justification for murder by the state just shows how morally degenerate they are
In case you missed it, feminist hero Graham Linehan is now sharing posts calling for women to lose the right to vote in America, because it’s not just trans women that these bigots believe shouldn’t have any personal autonomy.

It’s just so telling how Senate Democrats are here negotiating with the GOP while the GOP is trying to get them thrown in prison. The Dems aren’t fighting in the same war the rest of us have been witnessing.

There's plenty to criticize Democrats for, and I do it here all the time. But criticizing them for telling people they have to vote is so counterproductive it borders on malevolent. If in 2026, you don't get how important it is, you are as much a part of the problem as anyone you're angry at.
okay but like the burden is literally on us

Whelp, I guess I have to find an alternative to discord because I don't trust them with either my face or my ID
The Discord age verification discourse focuses on adults losing access to communities they have a right to access. That's important.

I'm also worried, though, about the kids. They seem to be an afterthought in these conversations. They have much to lose too. 🧵 www.theverge.com/tech/875309/...
Discord will require a face scan or ID for full access next month
Age verification for all.

Every hour of Fox News is devoted to finding something for conservatives to be mad about and blame on democrats, motivating them to get out and vote. It works. Meanwhile Democrats go to sleep in between elections and only a figure like bush or Trump motivates their base
I am continually surprised how much of FoxNews shows are designed as outrage generation.
If something doesn't hit, then they move on (dot org?) to some other shiny thing.

When the gop pushed for Obamacare repeal they didn’t open their ask with “cut some subsidies.” They asked for killing the policy and campaigned on it when they didn’t get it. Democrats think that negotiation means their opening big should be “reasonable” and that’s dumb.

I think the thing that infuriates me most about the spineless Dem leadershits currently wasting oxygen in this party is that I get why people like Stephen Miller do what they do. They’re just evil assholes.

Schumer and Jeffries were supposed to be the adults in the room, and they’re gobbling paste.

I wish conservatives had enough self awareness to ask themselves who are they going to fill these prisons with to keep the private contractors profitable after the immigrants are gone.

maybe the most upsetting and nefarious thing that the NYT does here, backed by predictable quasi-prohibitionist healthcare sources and reporting, is insist on equating cannabis addiction to alcohol addiction, in terms of severity or damages. It’s frankly offensive to anyone who grew up with drunks.

Dem presidential candidates should be loudly proclaiming how they will break media consolidations that occurred during the Trump administration
Brendan Carr is also very excited for more local broadcast TV consolidation at the hands of the right wing!

You know, to improve competition, something Carr (who has rubber stamped every desire media and telecom giants have ever had) genuinely cares about
