1/8 I've participated in a fair number of protests over the years, starting with the first Gulf War. I was surprised how moved I was at today's 50501 rally in KC. Partially, that was because of the sign I myself was carrying, and the conversations that led to.

Indie booksellers in Minneapolis and St. Paul have joined community efforts to fight ICE.
In the Twin Cities, indie bookstores are stepping up to ICE.

Ice beats ICE 2-0.
Welcome to Minnesota, fuckers. Also this is super disturbing because the ICE agent's assault rifle appears to fire as he falls down.

This was filmed by a friend near Chicago and Lake last night.

Literal trigger warning for this post. ICE murders a woman as she tries to drive away in Minneapolis.
This is the video.

All promised after January 6, 2021 to stop funding lawmakers who tried to overturn the 2020 election.

And all have broken that promise.

2 is my most frequent killer. (This also applies to improv.)
honestly think the three big Destroyers of Early Drafts are: 1) overly specific feedback too soon in the drafting process; 2) knowing what you want to say before pen touches page (no exploration); 3) people and animals you love (small children, echidnas, etc.)

From 2018 to 2024, the tax rate paid by eight major retailers was slashed from 30% to just 17.5%.

The CEOs of those major retailers were paid a collective $1.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the average worker at those stores was paid less than $32,000 in 2024.

Nothing trickled down.

Missouri’s referendum system exists to ensure lawmakers can’t insulate themselves from accountability. When 300,000 people sign their names to challenge a law, they aren’t offering a suggestion. They are exercising a constitutional veto belonging to the voters alone. #moleg #mogov
