Sure, a lot of people on here tonight are observing that "everybody needs an editor", per the Lizza thing. But I humbly suggest also that everybody needs "Everybody Needs an Editor," a catchy song by indie pop duo Mates of State

Not enough "celery-studded" things in my life
The meal was a serve-yourself affair: shrimp soup, oatrose turnovers, strong old celery-studded yellow cheese, brown wheat bread, strawberry flans, pear and redberry tart, and nutbrown ale or mint leaf an' rosehip cordial to drink.

last night at a bar I learned that they improved pinball by making machines that are entirely computers and they’re much better than what we had before

The service techs have confirmed it: This Subaru is feeling very blue-baru. Way more problems than any Subaru with only 66,000 miles should have, spanning transmission, engine, and electrical systems. And yet here we are, preparing to trade it in for whatever we can still get. Hooray!
I think my 2015 Subaru is trying to tell me something. Like, it's just not doing well and could use some support. The control arm bushings (?!) already needed replacing, and then it developed a windshield crack after the tiniest rock ding a week ago. Now? It's crying tears of coolant.

this is a rich text but my favorite part is that despite being presumably good at math, her husband is so illiterate that he cannot read a baby's report card
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here

You know, delivering mail in the dark, not my favorite thing. But I'm fortunate to work in an area that occasionally gives you some nice sunsets before it's time to break out the head lamp

I am very, very taken with the new Mountain Goats album. And the album's backstory is interesting. John Darnielle awoke from a dream one night and wrote down what he could remember of it: "through this fire across from peter balkan." He then wrote the album proceeding from that note as the title

Later in the weight room, I saw a guy in a Patriots hat turned backward, so I guess there were two unpleasant surprises today
Got a scary surprise in the parking garage at the Y this morning: a loose, barking German shepherd that bared its teeth and made a move at me as I was climbing the stairwell. Turns out, the owner left the dog in his car but also left a window completely down and the dog escaped.

I delighted in reading this.
We've covered how Meta Ray-Bans could have been worn by CBP during ICE raids, how it's being modded for facial recognition, and how it's being used as a spy tool.

Every time Meta argues: What is the difference between Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses and an iPhone?

SO yeah—here's a guide for Meta's PR team:
What’s the Difference Between AI Glasses and an iPhone? A Helpful Guide for Meta PR
Meta thinks its camera glasses, which are often used for harassment, are no different than any other camera.
