There was civilization in the Americas before the settlers arrived. The other work being performed here is to erase that and present settlement as the arrival of civilization instead of the annihilation of another
Neither Trump, nor half of his cabinet have “ancestors” who were in North America before the revolution. I’d guess that less than half of current US citizens do. “Your ancestors” is doing a lot of implicitly white Christian nationalist work here.

This “peace plan” sure sounds like the end of Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Good day to readers; Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands.
Still.
But we are back in a reality where Ukraine is being pushed toward capitulation.
Myroslava wants her son to live in a free world.
She voiced The Counteroffensive's stance: Trump's peace plan is a roadmap to more war.
Trump’s 'Peace' Plan Means More War
Myroslava voices Ukraine’s fear that the new US peace plan resembles capitulation. Despite fatigue and losses, the Counteroffensive team believes a just peace is possible only on Ukrainian terms.

It’s good to explain that the CDC is lying and vaccines still unequivocally do not cause autism, even if it just reaches one person on here who has doubts. But the fight is out there, not in here; and the time to let go of the information deficit model of science communication was decades ago

I learned the word “healthism” today—the idea that health and illness are solely a matter of individual morality and willpower, rather than the complex outcomes of biological and social processes, most of which are beyond individual control. In practice, this is what healthism sounds like.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

If we could stop the Chomsky worship now, that’d be nice.
Remember when Noam Chomsky showed up as having flown on Epstein’s jet from Boston to New York and his excuse was he was just going to have dinner with Epstein and *Woody Allen* and he thought they was a *mitigating factor*? Good times
