While everything else is a nightmare, at least we have the #Celtics 🏀☘️and #CPFC ⚽️🦅
That was a fun bit of energy injected into my night
Joe Mazzulla just got a tech after the play and he almost tossed Sam Cassell aside to get a second one. Joe was HEATED after that no call

It is wild to me that a military incursion to steal another country’s resources so the president can have a personal slush fund in Qatar is like the 5th most scandalous thing currently happening.
this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

Yes! The secretary of DHS will be gone within and you’ll be scolded if you dare celebrate - when the lesson is actually that pressure is working and can be turned to the next one (who’s wife is obviously seeing some writing on the wall and worried about protecting her grift).
Katie Miller is now jumping in to blame CBP and defend her husband.

(All of this shows how vulnerable Stephen Miller is, so we need to keep the pressure on to get him out of the administration.)

I personally don't tell people who have been fighting their hearts out daily for weeks not to celebrate wins of any size. I certainly don't do that when I've been nowhere near the place where the fight has been happening and have done little more than make some donations from miles away.

My feelings of the night perfectly summarized - and on that note it’s time for bed.
"You know Bovino leaving won't st..." Yes I fucking know. I shipped 800 whistles across the country today. I'll ship another 500 tomorrow. I will not stop until they are stopped and also I will take the fucking W when one of their top fash fucks gets the boot.

This is the giveaway that it has zero to do with criminals. Cops aren't about to stop arresting a serial killer if there was a large crowd booing them and honking. ICE is trying to menace a community. Inflict violence and terror.
Another question I came here with was: how effective are the whistles and honking? Does it stop abductions? And the answer is, surprisingly to my cynical self, yes, and often. I have talked to so many people who have successfully interrupted kidnappings.

Jared Golden is not running again and is from a Community that is likely to be under serious I¢E attack soon. Obviously Jeffries wanted this bill to pass, but still, what a middle finder to Maine from Golden here.
DHS spending bill passed 220-207

7 Democrats voted in favor:
Henry Cuellar
Don Davis
Laura Gilles
Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
Jared Golden
Vicente Gonzalez
Tom Suozzi

Massie voted No
Andy Harris didn't vote

Might not have passed if every Democrat voted No, but leadership wasn't whipping them to do so

I am lucky to have a rep (@pressley.house.gov) who’s been fighting / voting against ICE funding since her first term in 2019. She and one of my Senators have also introduced legislation this week to end their qualified immunity. If you aren’t sure where your rep stands CALL THEM.
So the House is going to vote TOMORROW on the DHS funding bill that includes funding for ICE.

There's a real chance we can get Dems to vote NO on any bill with ICE funding to sink it.

Once it goes to the Senate we likely lose this chance.

24 hours. Go.

I would argue that the case for dismantling ICE has, at this point, virtually nothing to do with larger questions of immigration enforcement and reform, it's just clearly incompatible with a free and democratic society to maintain a secret police force with sweeping and arbitrary authority.
Senator Gallego weighs in as well. Note that at the start of 2025 he was considered a *moderate* on immigration and co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act. Him and many other Dems have been increasingly horrified at what ICE is doing and shifted away from a "more enforcement" focus.

I think we should stop saying “it’s just a distraction from (previous evil things)” and start saying here is another evil thing (and keep that tally well documented). It seems to diminish whatever new illegal and insane thing is happening at the moment.
