I really, really hope everyone posting about having a cold or the flu feels better soon, but I really, really, REALLY hope you're all testing for Covid. Even if it wouldn't change how you treat yourself, it could make a difference in how dangerous you are to others. Please test & isolate if needed!

Back from visiting my family, finally caught up on the ending of Heated Rivalry, and I might need to order my very own Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird hat:
Stupid Canadian Wolf Bird Hat
It’s a loon. But don’t tell Ilya that. One second, you’re a Boston power forward. Next, you’re clutching a canoe paddle like a weapon because a haunting scream echoed across the lake at dusk. This bla...

Lesbian figure skating “Heated Rivalry” set in the “Heated Rivalry” universe where one of them is on the Canadian national team with Shane in Sochi and they have to do a bunch of photo ops together as like the king & queen of the ice and then we cut from that coffee shop to her story like with Scott
lesbian-Heated-Rivarly would actually work best outside of most team sports, which are often openly queer now.

- gymnastics
- competitive cheer
- figure skating

some of it even works better outside of sports altogether.

- modeling
- pop music
- news anchors
- ballroom dance
- beauty pageants
i think we should get a lesbian heated rivalry for every sport

we deserve a fucking bakery's worth of cakes

Not many people have said “are you sick?” to me when I wear a mask on the subway or in airports, but I swear to God I’m going to start replying “If you’re so worried about getting sick, why aren’t YOU wearing a mask?”

(But also, yes, none of anyone’s business!)
The whole clip disappointed me including the part where Stewart said he asks people if they’re sick for why they’re masking.

It’s like, none of your business?!?! Weirdo behavior.
Dear Jon Stewart c/o @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social
I recently watched, with great surprise and disappointment, a weeklyshowpodcast segment in which you and other "personalities," gleefully mocked and derided the relatively small subset of individuals who continue to wear a face mask in public.

In a post-Christmas miracle, my fruitcake-hating uncle refrained from "joking" about how much he hates fruitcake when offered a slice of the one I baked. My other uncle, who loves fruitcake, pronounced it excellent. I feel vindicated now.

abolish ice. theres no middle road on this and democrats will have to be held to it.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

"...you realize once again

That the longest way is the most efficient way,
The one that looped among islands, and
You always seemed to be traveling in a circle.
And now that the end is near

No woman I know in academia would be surprised by this, but its good to see it documented like this, I guess.
Experimental evidence that students are more likely to contest grades when they are delivered by an evaluator with a female-sounding name.

"These findings suggest that women in evaluative positions face disproportionate resistance when delivering negative assessments."

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, said he would buy the flowers himself. What a lark! What a plunge!
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, was somewhere in Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.
