once again it is extra enraging when it's being used by organizations that we all know have ample money and proper business infrastructure to pay human artists, but are just looking for ways out of doing so, when the impact on their total budget has got to be like trimming fingernails to lose weight
SNL used AI art tonight, multiple times.

Booooooo.

We're long overdue for something to collapse America's cultural hegemony and "say mean things about God's Precious Baby Trump we'll make you sorry if you ever come here" sure seems like it might do the trick.

Sorry I think using AI for placeholders is also bad
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know you only care about finished art but placeholder art also needs to be made by a human being who also needs to be paid for that

But placeholder midjourney slop cuts that artist out

The thing you need to understand about the Right is that they are absolutely fine just plain burning down higher education if taking it over ideologically doesn’t work. They’re perfectly happy reducing it to ashes.
From the Oklahoma U student paper: the school is now saying it will automatically suspend faculty (with pay) in response to student complaints

💀 there are three flavors of leftist in american media:

1. clueless leftist: caring about things is dumb and so is this character

2. deceptive leftist: nobody actually cares about things, likewise this character

3. genocidal leftist: we made a villain and realized he was too sympathetic

Maybe it's time to find a bunch of people and make up a chore rota to take turns presenting objections in person every day.

Constituents breathing down their necks and making it clear they're serious enough to show up and occupy a person's time and not just a voicemail's.
I'm gonna be real honest man, the fact that we have to keep constantly exhorting everyone to call their elected representatives every other day to say "please do not sign off on the Make Life Worse For Everyone Bill please" is intensely degrading, and also a pretty poor sign for a functional society

I just think farming social media engagement by pumping out videos of animals, who broadly are harmed by the environmental impact of AI, absolutely sucks ass, and is a stain on the soul. Literally sit around in a park for an hour, you'll see an animal doing something cute.

it does all this, as well as poisons the atmosphere around data centers, drains local water supply making residents have to ration water, its being used for fucking FASCISM, its encourging so much mental delusions and inspiring scam artists.

Generative AI has literally zero benefits to society
AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

If devs/publishers genuinely believed AI was 'the future of game design', they wouldn't cry so hard about having to disclose use of it on their steam pages.

Sorry, let me be more constructive, here's a comprehensive guide on why age verification not only _does not_ work, but cannot work — and harms everyone, of all ages, on the internet: www.eff.org/deeplinks/20...
Age Verification Is Coming For the Internet. We Built You a Resource Hub to Fight Back.
Age verification laws are proliferating fast across the United States and around the world, creating a dangerous and confusing tangle of rules about what we’re all allowed to see and do online. That's...

If you've been using Duolingo for Japanese, please switch to Renshuu immediately, you will not regret it and you may actually learn some Japanese.
I keep seeing posts asking if there are any alternatives to Duolingo for Japanese that don't use AI, and yes there are!!!

Also Mango languages might be free through libraries, but they use AI in course creation.

This is devastating. One of my favourite games of the year, To a T is a beautiful slice-of-life narrative with some of the best disability messaging I’ve seen in games.

Please play it!
Keita Takahashi said 'To a T' didn't sell well enough. He moved back to Japan with his family, unsure if he will stay in the industry.

It's real. It's in the moment. It's truth.
