In just over a month, tens of millions of Americans will be priced out of affordable health care coverage because Republicans let critical ACA tax credits expire.

I wrote this legislation to stop that from happening.

Saw my first here's a safe topic for Thanksgiving to avoid fighting with your family post and...

No. Fight your family. At the very least, do directly address the issue.

The Divvy contract is structured so that once the City made $20MM from it, their profit share was reduced to 5% of revenue. That date was approximately September 23rd, 2022 (duration: ~9 years) and since then (through 2023) they have made $410k (79k in 2022, 321k in 2023.

Public service announcement: it is not too late to buy a physical dead-tree cookbook. Thrift stores have been absolutely crammed with them ever since people decided to get all their recipes off the internet.
I wonder how many people are gonna catastrophically fuck up thanksgiving by using chatgpt for their recipes

Unforch it is true, white Americans do NOT ~generally~ have good cultural habits around hygiene.

Shoes in the house, outside clothes on the bed, etc. No real sense of "the world is outside, my home is inside."

We functionally live outside but surrounded by piles of belongings.
This is the whole lack of education on hygiene white Americans seem to have! Idk, my mom immigrated from Scotland and her dad was a military nurse so maybe she brought common sense cleanliness practices to our white family like don't sit on my bed in your outside clothes.

Breathless coverage of one person injured, not killed, on a CTA train, vs. a brief on Page 9 when two people are killed on the road. That’s because road death happens ALL THE TIME - 3 1/2 road fatalities per day in Illinois.
It looks like the number of transit riders killed this year is one …

Temporarily abled people have this illusion precisely *because* by definition they aren't regularly interacting with the healthcare system as a patient.

And then when they do inevitably become disabled, this illusion completely shatters and that itself is traumatizing.

Please do submit a comment if you live in Illinois. This is a practice that causes active harm to inmates, separates them even more from external support systems, and even makes it harder for U.S. attorneys to communicate with incarcerated clients
NEW — Illinois residents can submit comments to state leaders by Nov. 24 to oppose mail scanning, which allows prison officials to scan physical mail and reproduce it into digital copies.

Criminal justice advocates say the practice doesn’t make prisons safer.
