Personally I'd be pleased to see BBC News disappear entirely. To argue, as many do, that British politics or our news environment would be so much worse without the BBC you have to explain why British politics and news environment is so very bad with the BBC.

THEORY: Modern OSes, which load everything up the same after a restart so you barely know it's happened - has permanently broken the term "reboot".
It must be replaced. e.g "James Bond must be Reformatted, and a new account created from scratch"

my only conclusion is that people have forgotten what films are.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

I just remembered that my mother in law believes Bert and Ernie got married on Seseme Street. I said I think she was mistaken but she said she'd seen it.

I wonder how many of these work in IT!
A surprisingly bad set of labour market stats this morning. The story I was prepared for was "some weakening, but the shake out from the early part of the year is behind us". But it's worse than that - payroll jobs falling again, unemployment now up at 5%.

Can you guess what the "3 conditions"are?

Also: this is bollocks anyway, right, you're assessed on need not "mildness" of cause in comparison to anyone else.

I think then main thing I hate about the current age is that not only do stupid and bad people have a lot of power but they insist that I know about their batshit opinions as well

What's great about this is the electrics stop about 5 miles south of Leicester which makes no sense at all.
Govt scraps all electrification investment. Midland Main Line to stay forever diesel Leicester Nottingham Derby Sheffield. Hugely embarrassing and inexplicable

Sometimes when I realise I got a fact wrong I spend hours looking through Wikipedia history to convince myself it did once say it. And it never does.
Been a few threads about stuff like this on here today and man alive people who are this committed to idea of their own memory being infallible must be a fucking pain in the arse to deal with in every aspect of their life.
Popped into the Blur subreddit to find someone complaining they can't find any footage of the band playing Clover Over Dover at Wembley. This is because they didn't play Clover Over Dover at Wembley (they played it at Hammersmith a few weeks later), and everyone is trying to convince OP of this.

The issue with this format, as pointed out by Mrs C, is that knitting is boring to watch and takes ages. So they're just going to use chunky wool or not finish a jumper.

Totally happy for Andy Windsor to be living in a big building at the expense of the tax payer. Also no problem with other people cooking, doing his laundry etc. why is everyone complaining.
Wait hang on are we talking about a different big building??

Started watching "Horror Express" - a Spanish Lee/Cushing film with a monster in a train - on iPlayer mainly because I thought it sounded daft and I'm quite enjoying it. It's not a million miles off a Dr Who story. Then Kojak turns up, shouts at everyone and then dies. Great stuff.

I've thought about the alternatives and I think that we should replace the monarchy with a nice lovable dog.
- great for diplomacy
- can live at number 10
- great with kids
- adorable tourist merchandising opportunity
- if the dog bites someone it can be "sent to checkers" (put down)

Could be snarky about how Andrew is still better off than 99.9% of the country or how this is too little too late, there's still much to do etc but ultimately it is quite nice to see a consequence happen isn't it?

The problem with my ADHD meds is that I don't get so horribly bored, which means I'm actually totally content to just sit in the house and watch videos about trains.
