Final series of Inspector Morse: turns out it was Lewis all along, he did all the murders because he wanted to impress his boss with how good he was at puzzles.

Wasn't so much the Lore - callbacks, recurring characters with changing relationships, events affecting future films etc - was all fine. It was that it all ended up secretly being a Big Story about Bond... when the whole point really is he's just some guy, not the fulcrum of the universe

What if they set it in the 1980s.

James Bond must be wiped, started again from a very basic distro, and have all the packages installed - no, compiled manually - one by one.

And when we agree on numbers you need to follow up with a "what do you want to do about it and why?" Because if you think there's only people who "deserve"stuff and people who don't, you can sod off

There's gotta be a name for this rhetorical trick where you say _some_ of a thing is made up bullshit, but everyone who listens has a different conception of what number "some" is so nobody really disagrees with you. But also: this means you can't agree on what to do but who cares eh?

Also it is clear that Nolan chuckled at the people with their diagrams and flowcharts and wrote Tenet

It's actually one of Nolan's easiest to follow films because it tells you exactly how the story is going to work, then it happens, with expected complications. You don't spend the first 20 minutes figuring out that the narrative keeps jumping back and forth in time.

I don't want to advocate half arsed stopgaps that never get finished but they do always end up at the point where that would be better due to cost of delay.

They've done lots of work at Nuneaton the last decade, making the Leicester-Birmingham train less terrible (it's still shit), I guess something similar would be required at Leicester, a station which is too small already.

Yeah I guessed it was a complicated bit (lots of bridges for one), but didn't realise it was contingent on all that as well.

If you let the treasury fit your bathroom they'd withdraw funding just before they put the door on so they can focus on half finishing someone else's driveway.

It drives me mad how they never finish anything properly so it becomes a waste of money by default.

I think they were going to have to buy some hybrid trains anyway but it seems silly that they now have no option of all electric to Leicester doesn't it.
