Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

We will define what a woman is: anyone who is fed up with ppl trying to define a woman. A woman is someone who is fed up w/the current govt going back on equal pay. A woman is someone who sees a 🚩 when the anti-choice PM puts an anti-choice politician as Minister of Health #nzpol #abortion #equalpay

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Had a good yarn about US election results & UK polling showing that actually, politicians that stand up for diverse communities with their full throat are succeeding and cynical rights-bargaining incrementalism ain’t a winner

We await a ruling from the Human Rights Review Tribunal in NZ, while Progressive populism, including trans rights, now seems a vote winner in both the UK & US - how is the NZ left positioned?

A busy first day as your Mayor-elect: early morning interviews, transition announcements and meetings. More to say on all of it tomorrow.

But a highlight was lunch with my Congresswoman @aoc.bsky.social at Laliguras Bistro in Jackson Heights.

It's a Democratic clean sweep in Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. A blue wave. A blue tsunami. A tornado of shit for Trump & the GOP who are left screaming about deranged election fraud conspiracies. We won. We fucking won. And now we need to act like it.

Massive news for VA, I believe this guarantees they'll be able to get abortion rights on the state ballot next year. The antis spent hell of time and money in VA trying to stop this and absolutely face-planted.
