Ladies and Gentlemen, I FOIA'd the full list of submitted Arlington Plow names so that you don't have to. Some highlights that didn't make the official list, in roughly alphabetical order: 🧵👇🏻
I need Paul Rudd on the Muppet Show
I need Nick Offerman and Kristen Bell and Sir Ian McKellen, and Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion on the Muppet Show.
I need Animal in a drum battle with Dave Grohl. I need Missy Piggy performing Say Something with A Great Big World.

Bring. It. Back.

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

Crazy you can catch the ball. Have clear possession and some guy can just strip it out as you hit the ground and that counts as an interception. Bills always on the end of some absolutely insane calls.

The bills got completely robbed. Out of all the interceptions that ever happened, that interception happened the least.

The Bills got screwed on three calls in OT. That was a Bills catch, NOT an interception. And those pass interference calls were BS.

Among many other things, this video does a great job highlighting the minefield that is comparing cities to each other, and why maybe advocates' time is better spent focusing on ways to improve their own city rather than denigrating the cities of other advocates.

The County had funding to do this (www.arlnow.com/2021/07/21/c...) and ultimately abandoned the project and gave the money back.

As I never tire of reminding people, the two plausible alternatives to automated traffic enforcement are that we either rely on the discretion of individual police officers or we simply don't enforce traffic laws at all. We have been trying both alternatives now and they are failing us.
See also: debates about speed cameras.

There's a problematic reflex among some progressive reformers to move from "conventional criminal legal responses are bad" to something too close to "accountability in general is bad."

I think (as Jamelle argues here) it's rooted in not thinking abt victims.
someone tell the California ACLU who is disproportionately more likely to be killed in traffic accidents including those involving people under the influence
