I get it. I don't exist anymore. I'm going to stop trying to be heard. I don't know what more to say. It's not just here it's everywhere and it hurts too much to keep being invisible. I can't be what people want me to be. I can't not have needs. Stepping away again.

"Just ask for help" is such a joke. It always has been but the sicker and more disabled I get, the less support I get. These days people don't even listen or reply and they ignore anything they don't want to hear. Even direct requests for help. On social media too. I feel so alone and abandoned.

I'm physically disabled and use SNAP. If this pops into your feed, as a follower, I'd appreciate if you shared this -- but if you can send any amount to either of these two links, it'd really help this month:

Venmo: @Matthew-Blanchette-15

Thanks. #SNAP #helpsky

I am no longer employed so I'm not blogging Zohran tonight but I can just repeat exactly what I said in June :-)

he won on the back of a pro-migrant, pro-trans, pro-working class campaign. and also: Dem pundits are full of shit

Zohran Mamdani did something different, and it made all the difference.

The firing of black women & trans people from Teen Vogue is a devastating loss

Teen Vogue listened to young people

It spoke to young people

It tackled topics other media outlets were afraid to cover

Its political coverage represented diverse voices. It didn’t bend a knee

Which is why it’s gone

Saw people from the US say they got spoiled, moldy stuff from food banks; then they got called entitled. I guess poor people are supposed to eat rotten food and be thankful for it?

November 3rd. New month. #HelpFolksLive2025 thread. Something's *always* due & food is *always* needed. Things only get better with community action. *Now* is when folks need food, water, shelter, meds. *Now* is when we/the community needs to be there for each other. There's no one else. Just us.

OK well with that, I'm officially taking a hiatus from here. I'll still donate and do MA when I can. Take care.

I'm feeling really overwhelmed seeing everything going on with the world but I'm also too depressed to try to talk to new people so I'm caught in a bad cycle of loneliness and doomscrolling. I also have to admit I'm pretty disheartened that I reached out for support here and nobody replied.

it's crazy to me how many people think humans should pay to live. it's cruel to starve millions when we have the resources to feed them all. for what fucking reason? profit? human life will always matter more than that

People who've never been food insecure need to shut the fuck up about the choices of people who are.

Except insofar as observing we shouldn't tolerate the possibility of food insecurity in our society.

I try to be professional on this platform but there are times, like now, when it hits me hard on a visceral level that we are in the midst of a catastrophic global public health crisis and it seems, as a species, we've somehow decided that ignoring it is the best plan we've got.

I’m a disabled person and have to find housing imminently without any income or savings and now I have no SNAP. If you’re fortunate enough to have some spare dollars I would appreciate it so much if you could send me a donation just to keep my head afloat. My links are in bio. ❤️
They cut off my SNAP.

Disabled Americans experience the highest rates of poverty of every marginalized group in America. 27% live below the poverty line (12% for ableds).

Their median earnings are $18,865 compared to $28,983 for the abled.

These numbers WILL get worse.

If you can help you will save lives.
Feeding America has a page where you can input your zip code and it'll show you all of the food banks near you overlaid on a map. If you need it, it's there. If you don't need it, think about donating money if you have it and your time if you don't.

As other people have noted, if you have local food banks, now would be an excellent time to donate cash to them, if you have the cash to spare. We will be upping our donations to food banks and hunger-related charities here in Ohio.

I think my new meds might be making me more depressed which is a side effect I was worried about. I can't stop them and I don't really know what to do about it. Definitely not helping my coping and quality of life issues right now. I wish I had support.

I never know what I'm going to get when I open up about my serious health issues. I tell people I don't like unsolicited advice. But like yesterday I told someone I have a serious autoimmune disease that disables me and she immediately asked me if I've had my vitamins levels checked?
October 26, 2025 at 3:10 PM
I've been thinking about this a lot. I've used food banks in the past and I would not be able to meet my nutritional and dietary needs on my special disability diet using food banks now. I don't know what I would do. Likely get very sick and be in a lot of pain and potentially worsen my conditions.
People with disabilities that require special diets will struggle to feed themselves at food banks.

Those with illnesses that make standing in long lines difficult will struggle to access food banks.

Parents of kids with AFRID, autism or other food issues will struggle.

What can we do to help?

A reminder that losing SNAP will be particularly devastating to those whose disabilities require them to have special diets.

The disability tax is real.

Everything costs more when you’re sick, and special diets are no exception.

Boost & donate to mutual aid. People need help.

People love autistic honesty until it’s directed at them.

Then suddenly it’s a “tone”

No - it’s clarity.

You just weren’t used to being spoken to without performance and degradation.

This includes towards other autistics who don’t know what it’s like to be spoken to directly.

I can't keep carrying all the weight of my connections. Meeting people who want closeness but don't want the discomfort of ever having to give support back or work through issues. You don't get to only have the good parts and be happy all the time and avoid all conflict if you want real friendship.
