I'm reading through 'Akira' now, so this will be my thread dedicated to Book 1. I will make threads for the other books when I get to them.
I feel that Otomo Katsuhiro's work speaks powerfully and directly to the turbulent world we find ourselves in today, including what is happening in America.

Yeah.
Yeah, I remember this very vividly from when I was a child, how much better the donuts were and how they got worse.

I agree. It's really time to stop, please.
something i think is bad for this site is practice of screenshotting x posts for dunking. directing aggression outward always better than inward, so if it lowers tension here fine. but it reinforces notion that x is still main board and we orbit around it

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

This is by Akira Himekawa, an anonymous female duo of manga artists who worked on the various Zelda mangas. Here they react to Wind Waker's new, child-like art style, after the more adult Link and world of other works (like Ocarina).

As I told my class this morning, if I, as a professor of American politics who's paid to teach this stuff, can't remember details of the March showdown, you guys as mid-information voters probably won't remember what happened this week, but you'll know that you're paying more for health care
