Random note: Years ago I came across the Russian expression "Надежда умирает последней", or, "Hope dies last."

What did it have to do with Russian culture? I did some searching. What I commonly found was that the phrase is often used ironically to indicate futile or forelorn hope. But ... 1/2

At one point today, there were 283 Minnesota attorneys doing a training on how to file emergency habeas petitions to keep our neighbors from being shipped out of state and held indefinitely.

That would be the second largest law firm in the state. And that training was just put together this week.

You answered your own question - Finland is a Nordic country, not Scandinavian
Finland is Nordic now? I was told - by Scandinavians - that Finland is absolutely NOT Scandinavian
The Nordics are going all in on Greenland.

Norway sent two (2) guys and the Swedish guys are unarmed

Still, both are better than the non-existing contribution from Finland

There’s no freedom of speech in America anymore.

Unless you want to say “quiet piggy” to a reporter.

Or “f*cking b*tch” to a murder victim.

Fed HR Incompetence Thread

When I was in med school, I joined the USAF. However, I left med school to change fields before my service started, so I resigned my commission. Easy peasy.

Then I got a check for my reserve service a few months later. I figured it was an error so I sent it back.
A few months ago, ICE hired me

I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"

What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

Taking down drones or interfering with drone signals (IE, with jammers) are federal crimes in the USA.

I have 0 doubt ICE will viciously enforce these laws against people who mess with their drones.

Any action people are thinking of taking against drones must take this into account.
