Has anyone any suggestions for muting "Narf Lahndahn 4 Eva" when it's your spouse who won't stop singing it? (Hoping for suggestions less lethal than a le creuset frying pan to the head)

“We all know why,” says Matt Goodwin.

And we do! It’s because the methodology for estimating emigration changed! I’m sure that’s what Matt is getting at here, right?
I thought he wanted net immigration to fall tho?

I'm sure that everyone is sparing a thought for Albert Reynolds today, the poor craytur so cruelly defamed by The Times back in 1994.

Strongest condemnation from a local politician so far coming from Labour's Ged Nash - underlining how close we may have been to having several lives lost in Drogheda overnight as a result of this attack.

I condemn in the strongest terms the deeply disturbing incident at the IPAS centre in Drogheda. To put vulnerable families, including young children, at risk is abhorrent and has no place in our society.

Our thoughts are with those affected by this horrifying experience.

This is creepier at Halloween than, say, if it happened at Easter.

Many, many moons ago, on the other place, I had to tell an ill informed tweeter (with Irish parents) that Halloween is Irish, not American. It led to our first proper conversation. We got married on the Halloween Bank Holiday weekend in '23. Now I get to remind him annually.
Today is Halloween Is Irish Actually Day, it turns out.

I've just found out that my husband uses "the lesser USB cable" for charging his phone in the car, so "the good cable" is always available for my use.

B) I'm not retracting the aspersions I cast on my Mother-in-Law's panadol consumption in the late '60s

From the deck I can't see Ireland, can't see Wales, just the Irish Sea. Obviously I'm now googling how that shower made it over in relatively small boats 850 years ago

This trial has taken 53 years
As we await a verdict in the trial of Soldier F, another reminder that in 2010 the Bloody Sunday inquiry found

- the killings were unjustified
- none of the 14 dead (7 of whom were children) had guns
- no warnings were given
- no soldiers were under threat
- the troops were the first to open fire

Anyone know if the verdicts are being live skeeted by anyone in the court?
