This !!!! Even if Dems had voted to keep it open in hopes of talks in November they were already planning on letting the subsidies expire
Reality check: There is a bipartisan House bill to extend the ACA tax credits for one year—and just 14 Republicans have signed on. 14 out of 219, less than 7%.

The vast majority of House Republicans want this to expire, or at least don’t want to be associated with an extension.

Those last two sentences? They apply to everything.
This is the biggest attack on free speech since the McCarthy era but it also has significantly less popular consensus behind it than the second Red Scare. It's being done on behalf of a minority faction led by the most unpopular president in modern history. Organizing against this can win.

Said a unanimous SCt LAST YEAR: "Six decades ago, this Ct held that a government entity’s 'threat of invoking legal sanctions and other means of coercion...to achieve the suppression' of disfavored speech violates the First Amend. Today, the Court reaffirms what it said then..." Please file suit.

@aceducation.bsky.social @naicu.bsky.social don’t let this pass ! This will destroy students who need to borrow for any point in college ! Yall have strength as lobbying groups !
This is not hyperbole: this Republican bill makes higher education accessible only to the wealthy few and tells the working class to either not go to college or find a more dangerous private lender to do so.

Unacceptable. This bill must be stopped.

Public opinion on immigration is 1) malleable, and 2) easily sours on visible cruelty, and if anyone told you otherwise over the last 5 years, they're offering you cursed ideology masked as wise pragmatism
Remarkable from WaPo poll: Trump sinking fast on immigration among independents.

56% disapprove of handling of issue
62% oppose removing foreign students
52% oppose renditions to El Salvador
Only 21% want Abrego Garcia left there

Engage, Dems.
