Here, to my knowledge, was the city’s last hand recount, in 2015 between Lisa Herbold and Shannon Braddock for city council. Nine votes changed, all of them write ins reclassified as under votes. Herbold and Braddock’s tallies remained the same.

One of my favorite things about @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social is that she’s not afraid of a difficult fight.

It’s one of the things that has the potential to make her an incredible, transformational mayor.
Eight months ago, Katie Wilson declared her intention to run and all the conventional powers-that-be said she didn't stand a chance of winning.

Remember that we don't always know what is possible.
Wilson now leads in the Seattle mayoral race by 91 votes. Prior to today, Harrell had been leading by 4,300 votes, but this latest vote batch netted Wilson 4,391 votes.

SEATTLE SOON???!?!?
A complete, connected, comfortable network of protected bike-lanes is a climate mitigation strategy. It’s a healthy cities strategy. It’s a social equity strategy. It’s an affordability strategy. It’s an economic devt strategy. It’s a smart mobility & space saving strategy.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

Etc.

schilling is the rare white dude failing downwards and we LOVE to see it

(it’s almost certain that he will no longer be mayor now that there’s a progressive majority in the Burien City Council, who elect the mayor from within their own ranks)
In the other close race we've been watching, @edwinobras.bsky.social is now ahead by comfortable 1,500 votes, all but ensuring that he has prevailed over Kevin Schilling and his big corporate backers!

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Seattle mayor Bruce Harrell was putting out at least a press release daily celebrating all the amazing things the mayor's office was doing right up until, let's see, November 3.

Nothing since then, though. Weird!

I love this look at the very successful WA Working Families Party. Ideally, it would be they and not the Stranger who have the most influential endorsements -- those endorsements are made by the party's members and active volunteers after public interviews. A strong WFP is just what WA needs!
The Working Families Party is helping Seattle candidates get elected
Eddie Lin, Erika Evans, Dionne Foster and Alexis Mercedes Rinck were among the candidates whose campaigns were boosted by the progressive Working Families Party.

Parking was one of the more controversial aspects to Portland's Residential Infill Project.

This newly built triplex at SE 16th & Morrison is a good example of how eliminating parking requirements allowed a mature tree to be saved. www.redfin.com/OR/Portland/...
