Interesting writing advice from Kurt Vonnegut. Sounds almost simplistic, yet many forget it.

This poem spent a little time behind a paywall, and have just realized that I never shared it now that it's out in the wild! Grateful to Consequence Forum for publishing what was, for me, a profound series of experiences

look at these helpers.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I’m sharing this video again because people don’t really get what these data centers and ai are doing to our planet and our communities. Especially Black communities because they were strategically placed there.

I need you to listen to these people.
STOP USING AI. STOP SUPPORTING AI.

fascinating thread!
Had an intriguing editorial discussion recently: how did people in the past talk about 'minutes' when they didn't have watches or standardised times? How does that affect your thinking?

Come down an Elizabethan/Jacobean rabbit hole with me.

shoutout to the time i accidentally preordered the same book THREE TIMES
Preorders are important because then you forget you preordered and you buy another copy of the book and give the one you get after the one you get surprisingly quickly to your friend.
Preorders help small presses and authors tremendously but that’s not why they’re important on a soul level. Preorders matter because they’re acts of faith. You trust the order will come through, the book will be good, which means something in this low-trust society we’re trapped in.
