Emmanuel, a 15-year-old with intellectual disabilities, wandered away from his mom’s fruit stand in October.

She reported him missing to Houston police. But instead of reuniting them, the city turned him over to ICE.

“They’re failing all of us,” his mom said.

I think this a great move. Give people money directly, at the place where they're spending the money, and at a place that makes it really easy to spend that money in a healthy way.
To support city families facing food insecurity during the holiday season, Fresh Connect Emergency Checks from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets will be distributed at the Public Market.

If there is the demand, they don't need a tax break. If there isn't demand, the tax break is a bad idea as it penalizes current hotel owners. Either way, the tax break is a bad idea.

Nuzzi's fawning coverage of the sociopathic conspiracy crank she was having an affair with aided his rise to political power, which he is using to perpetrate the worst intentional public health catastrophe of our unnecessarily shortened lifetimes, and THAT is the STORY.

"Everyone - whether driving, walking or cycling has a role to play in keeping our community safe."
-Mayor Andrea Horwath

My question is simple: What about those who design, approve, build and maintain hostile road design? Do they have a role?
A crossing guard was killed by the driver of a dump truck yesterday. absolutely heartbreaking.
Look at our intersections, look how hostile these are for people/children - this is what we continue to build and defend at all costs. These aren't accidents, these are results. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I think they could. Trump campaigned on the country being bad and "I'll fix it." GOP would do the same in cities: "crime is horrible, I'll fix it." Especially if cities incorporated suburbs, suburban voters who rarely go to city centers due to fear of crime would vote that way.

Across the developed world, big city conservative mayors and council majorities are quite common—except in the US. Why are Republicans are so much less relevant in cities than their peers in every other developed country? My latest:

Democrats have ample material to make the case that the sole governing principle of Republicans is to hurt people. They threatened to starve kids, they're sending healthcare costs through the roof, and they're doing this all while funneling billions of dollars to ICE so they can kidnap people.
