On Sunday we finished our Tyranny of Dragons (well, Horde of the Dragon Queen) campaign and it was alright. I had desires for it that went unfulfilled but it was a decent beer and pretzels kind of game twice a month for six months.

if you tell someone that you won’t vote for a candidate who shot their pet dog in the face for no reason, no one would object. but if you tell them you won’t vote for a transphobe who wants to make being trans illegal, you’re accused of having purity politics.
I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.

I dislike milestone leveling. In the Tyranny of Dragons game I’m in we gain a level basically every two sessions and that is far too fast.

I think a way to be a better player is when a GM has a quick-start scenario for a game with pre-gen characters you play the goddamned pregen characters instead of demanding to make your own.

OMG okay so despite my previous post we fought a vampire today in Tyranny of Dragons and I HAVE NEVER FELT SO ALIVE! My god that combat was hair-raising and fun.
My issue is that is the first truly enjoyable combat in like 10 sessions.

The fun thing about D&D 5E (2014) is that when you optimize your character it makes the only engaging part of the mechanics completely pointless!
