Mom told me that for her birthday, she didn't feel that latent sadness due to people's inability to be spontaneous and intentional about her on her special day. Except for today. We took her out, planned it all, and I got her two clothing pieces she'd been wanting. My daughterly duties are fulfilled

It's so funny how we can be in the trenches about something at one point in our lives, and then a few months or years later, we'll remember and laugh

Just saw Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, and I just have one thing to say.

Funnily enough, I'm currently reading The Conscience of a Conservative, written by conservative Arizona senator Jeff Flake, whereby he expresses DEEP opposition to Trump, names many ailments of his own party, and emphasizes a return to a more principled form of conservatism
Republicans turning against Trump is very Mars in Sagittarius coded. Mashallah Ibn Athari emphasizes tension between the ruler and their courtiers saying “the lofty will strain against one another”

My boss, who I'm very sure is a Virgo rising, just had one of his cases dismissed, forcing him to move up to appeals court. He's PISSED

I think NYRB Classics may be my new obsession. Their selection is smartly curated, in contrast to current publishers that prefer to publish utter trash because it's popular and it brings in revenue

Again, one thing I was deeply wrong about these last years was that some baseline level of professional pride existed that would prevent journalists & media outlets from so thoroughly & publicly debasing themselves in the face of authoritarianism. I was naive. I apologize. It won't happen again.
I honestly don't think the NY Times has been this bad in my lifetime, it's deeply shameful.

I just started this book. I have never felt so seen and identified with a character as I've connected with Stoner.

Day 4 of my timelord in Scorpio, and I came across the idea of trying a nocturnal studying schedule. I've just tried it, and I have to say that it's been pretty effective, and I was able to concentrate much more deeply than on a diurnal schedule.

Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains. n.pr/3L5exuu

I've had my comments deleted twice and been blocked once for offering critique on published work. You bitches live in an echo chamber! Stop perceiving dissent as a personal attack!

The Constitution is not self-enforcing.
The only thing holding our Republic together are our norms.
And the only thing that enforces those norms is The People.
No one is coming to save us.
It's entirely up to us.
