Thread ‼️👇🏻
One of the most precious things about Remembrance is that it sets no political tests.

It asks only that we "remember", and that we do so in the silence of our own thoughts.

It doesn't dictate what we remember, how we remember or what lessons we draw.

That's between ourselves and our conscience.🧵

Ein komplexes Datum, der 9. November: Erinnern, Scham und Hoffnung mischen sich aus deutscher Perspektive:

1918 - Waffenstillstand / armistice
1938 - Pogrom
1989 - Mauerfall / fall of the wall

The 9th of November is a complex mix of remembrance, shame, and hope from a German perspective.

Funny thing is we've seen this pattern so many times before. Republicans win White House. Democrats said to be out of touch and leaderless. First elections, a recovery, because that's the process that drives finding new positions when you don't have permanent leaders.
A 15-point win for VA gov. A 5-point win for VA AG in a race he was expected to lose. A 13-point win for NJ gov, in a race that was expected to be close. An outright majority in NYC in a three-way race. A 30-point win for Prop 50 in CA. #BlueWave #Election2025

Making Banking Supervision Suck Again - The American Prospect
Bank supervision consists of two main prongs: risk management and compliance. On the compliance side, consumer protection laws are being enforced less than at any time since at least the Great Recession.
