New York Times dot com, I consider both a moral victory and a personal one.

I’m a NYC resident, so it’s kind of my local paper… otherwise I would get rid of it.

Häs The New Yôrker Lóst its miñd?
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter
In a new standup special, and a début novel, the comedian navigates murky, post-#MeToo terrain: not quite exiled, not quite welcomed back.

Undoubtedly NYT will go with “Death toll climbs to 80 in ______”
Every headline about the Hegseth thing should read “ordered the killing of men, a war crime” because it unambiguously is. This isn’t a matter of debate. You can’t sink a ship and then blow up the helpless survivors, even if they’re actual enemy soldiers, much less random South American men.

I love this song!
Larry Summers is out at the NY Times, where he was a contributing writer. From a Times spokesperson:
“Lawrence Summers was a contributing writer for New York Times Opinion on a 1-year contract beginning in January, 2025. We do not intend to renew this contract. We thank him for his contributions.”

I wonder why Schumer’s office never replies to my emails asking if he has switched parties? 🤔

If you get a chance, give Bill our condolences on Cuomo’s loss, and reassure him everything’s gonna be ok!
More people voted in New York City’s election this year than they have in 50 years.

That’s a win for democracy, and a testament to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social's inspiring campaign.

Congratulations to the next mayor of the greatest city in the world. 🗽

Are we SURE Meister isn’t pro-Mamdani??
Defend NYC, a pro-Cuomo super PAC operated by Trump adviser Jason Meister, is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on sending out this text message to NYC voters, hoping it'll convince them to vote Cuomo for mayor, new filings show.

This “thousands” thing is such obvious trolling.

I could see “thousands” myself with my own eyeballs, and I didn’t time travel around the country this morning.

I legitimately got chills watching this. She’s a crusader.

I would knock doors if she were the Democratic nominee for president, running on a campaign of de-Nazifying our government.
Tish James lit up the room last night — and her words echoed far beyond the walls of The United Palace. This is a fight for the future.

I loathe Gavin but it would give me giddy pleasure to see JD Vance get demolished, re-demolished, briefly resurrected, and then completely obliterated by Gavin in a general election.

“I would never have said shit like this, therefore none of the other young republicans would have!”
As I note in this episode, I'm a woman so I'm used to people reflexively dismissing me as "stupid" or "ignorant." So not surprised that happened here.

But I was a young Republican in high school. I would have *never* said shit like this. Ever.

You guys basically have martial law in almost everything but name.
In Chicago, four vehicles descended and eight ICE agents moved in to kidnap a child.

She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

This is not about immigration enforcement.

It's about terrorizing Americans.

Kristi Noem, while governor of South Dakota, supplemented her roughly $130,000 salary by secretly accepting $80,000 donated to a political nonprofit she was affiliated with, records show.

She never disclosed this income on federal ethics forms.

Seems like a good day to donate to Indivisible!
The fact that this coming 9 days before the largest peaceful protest in modern American history is absolutely intentional. We will not back down. Trump and Miller can lie, smear, and threaten all they want. They will lose. No Kings, No Kings, No Kings. www.reuters.com/legal/govern...

FOX: Do you think Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?

FETTERMAN: If this sticks. I think the whole point of having a Nobel Peace Prize is for ending wars and promoting peace. And if he brings the Ukrainian war to its end, I will be the Democrat leading the committee for his Nobel Prize Peace.

Can popes be POTUS?
For the uninitiated: The pope being this direct and explicit to U.S. bishops about how to respond to a domestic policy happening in real time is…unusual.
Pope Leo told U.S. bishops visiting him at the Vatican on Wednesday that they should firmly address how immigrants are being treated by President Donald Trump's hardline policies, attendees said, in the latest push by the pontiff on the issue. For @reuters.com:
