So the President of the United States of America is posting to his personal social media network blatantly fake news videos that I'm pretty sure are AI generated slop. This one is supposedly about Gavin Newsom panicking that Walmart is pulling out of California (it's not).

Good moment to share again as EU is considering its options to counter US economic coercion campaigb for Greenland. Let‘s start with taxing adtech really hard.
While the US government is escalating its campaign against EU tech regulation - just a reminder. It's the EU that is being taken advantage off. 120 Billion revenue for #Google #Meta #Amazon only in digitale advertising in Europe. And hardly paying any taxes on it.

Europe’s Digital Markets Act aims to open ecosystems: alternatives to app stores, fair access to OS features, real interoperability. But for many free and open source developers, those promises remain fragile without robust enforcement, write Lucas Lasota, Dario Presutti and Jithendra Palepu.

It says everything to understand what this is about.
Facebook, Instagram, X are simply banned in Russia. No US outrage about free speech there—yet the EU is the target. That contrast says a lot.
Visa bans may be moderate, but the message isn’t: the US is signaling it feels entitled to challenge EU rules governing digital speech.

As I didn't intend to travel to the US, excuse my French: The US administration is

- intentionally spreading fake news and lies about EU laws.
- trying to coerce European states by threatening to reduce military support if it doesn't exclude US companies from EU digital rules.

Jaja, "Big Tech muss weg", I know.
