The other day I had a conversation with my mom, who asked if I could take more videos of the TTRPG work I do so she can better understand it. I've wanted to mess around with video content for a little bit now, but the idea of a 'intro to tabletop' series for my family definitely cheers me up.

Hurty Gurdy Musical Instrument, Very Rare (requires attunement) It seems that someone took great lengths to make this wheel fiddle as imposing as possible by adding spikes to nearly every flat surface on it. Even the strings themselves have been replaced with a tightly wound, yet fine sounding steel wire covered in barbs. Though this instrument hasn’t seen use in some time, there are still deep red stains covering it. It would seem that the users of it in years gone by have left their mark. You gain a +1 bonus to performance checks made with this magical instrument. When you perform with it, roll a d6. On an even result, you cut yourself and take 1d8 piercing damage. On an odd result, you do not cut yourself and gain a +3 bonus instead as the performance is especially impressive. Once per day, when an ally within 30 feet of you would take damage as part of a weapon or spell attack, you can use a reaction to grind a grating note, redirecting 25 points of the triggering damage to yourself. Any resistances you have still apply to this damage, but the original target still takes any additional conditions from the hit.

This was a project that seemed to fly by because it was so fun to write. 'Make it sexier' was a driving force behind my contribution to the horror chapter, so I hope you lil freaks go crazy with the character options I designed!

Copilot consumes Nadella’s life outside the office as well. He likes podcasts, but instead of listening to them, he loads transcripts into the Copilot app on his iPhone so he can chat with the voice assistant about the content of an episode in the car on his commute to Redmond. At the office, he relies on Copilot to deliver summaries of messages he receives in Outlook and Teams and toggles among at least 10 custom agents from Copilot Studio. He views them as his AI chiefs of staff, delegating meeting prep, research and other tasks to the bots. “I’m an email typist,” Nadella jokes of his job, noting that Copilot is thankfully very good at triaging his messages.

New #Mechatheria post, about mechs and change and what this is about. Day two baby!
A block of text describing mechs in Mechatheria that exceeds the alt text limit, the salient bits are as follows. You're in the head of a thirty-foot tall wolf. Not piloting it, Being it. When the mech turns its head, you're not watching screens. You're looking through is eyes. When it drops to all fours in a hunting crouch, you feel the ground through its claws. The digitigrade legs coil with tension that's yours now. The mech is three parts: the frame (thirty-ish feet of high performance machinery, armor and carbon fiber), you (reclined in that oversized head), and the INCONU core (the quasi-living AI that links you both). The animal theming your mech carries is structural, not decorative. Wolf mechs have angular plates and elongated profiles, vicious claws, and that sleek predator head. A cowl of what looks like guard hair is thick armor that completes the aesthetic. You customize your mech to suit you. Better actuators for the joints, lighter plating, upgraded sensors. Then you start changing yourself to suit it. Drugs to sharpen your reflexes, increase your aggression during matches. Surgery to make the sync faster, more stable. Implant retractable claws into your hands, just to make them feel like yours again. You get cosmetic work done to match the look of their mech. Why not? You're becoming it anyway. The thing that makes you whole starts eclipsing everything else. The gap between who you were and who you're becoming grows wider. The only ones who understand are your teammates. Some people try to pull you back. They say you're changing too fast, going too far, that you're not yourself anymore. But the change doesn't feel fast enough to you and you've never felt more yourself. Every day not synced feels wasted. Every modification delayed feels like staying trapped. They want you to slow down, but you've felt what it's like to be complete. To be yourself. You can't unfeel that. You can't go back. You wouldn't want to anyway.

I've run a lot of adventures over the past year for my community, and I think the one element of TTRPGS I haven't really touched on would be puzzles.

Dungeons? I'm great for. Dragons? Got em. Lots of comedy, and horror, resource management, some romance too. But damn I'm so bad at making puzzles.

Each year I reflect on the progress I made as a minis painter with a 'group photo' of my work. At times it felt like I fell short of my goals in 2025 - but looking back it's clear that I did a lot.

I couldn't fit it everything in one shot, so I split it into two sets: 40k and D&D!

Warhammer I painted in 2025 - Hearthkyn Yaegir and Salvagers, Volkus game board, barricades, barbed wire, explosions, supply drop markers, and some Brokhyr Votann units. Two plague marines lurk ominously on the side. My hearthkyn salvagers, moving through the rubble of a volkus ruin. D&D minis I painted in 2025 - A large cottage home, an ice elemental, a colossal green dragon, a purple worm, city / castle walls, and some mine tracks. First day of the new year, first post about my new game. #Mechatheria

Mechatheria is a game about college kids with giant mechs who compete in high-stakes sports while figuring out who they are. It's melodrama, tournament arcs, found family, and the terrifying joy of becoming yourself. Your character pilots a mech with a quasi-living core called an INCONU - an instinctive control unit with animal-level intelligence that bonds to you specifically. It doesn't speak in words. It feels. It wants. It knows you in ways nobody else does. And here's the thing: without that bond, you feel wrong. Muted. Like you're watching your own life from outside. When you sync with your mech, everything clicks. Colors are brighter, thoughts seem clearer, everything is finally real. The problem is, that relationship is hungry. The more you sync with your INCONU, the deeper the bond gets. The deeper the bond, the harder it is to be apart. You start skipping class to be in the mech bay. You tune out conversations because you're thinking about your next match. The thing that makes you whole starts to eclipse everything else. That's the engine of this game. Not tactics. Not optimization. The slow seduction of becoming something you can't come back from. Who Is This Game For? People who want to feel things at the table. People who like sports stories where the score matters less than the journey. People who've experienced that ache of wanting to be yourself and not knowing how. People who like melodrama played straight - not ironic, not detached, fully committed to characters caring too much about things that matter. If you want to optimize mech builds, there are great games for that. This isn't one of them. If you want to watch your character fall in love, blow up their family relationships, do something impossible in the big match, and emerge transformed - welcome to Mechatheria.

Assuming the quality of output is the same, this begs the question: Who would win in a fight, a well-raised child or several recently animated skeletons?

For years I've joked about owning this 'mini'. It seemed wrong to buy for myself. What do you do with such a centerpiece?

So anyway, the holidays are over now and I'm thinking my players are about to find the nation of Towertopia. I'm sorting my room decor. I'm looking up stat blocks for mimics...

...And everyone knows magic grows more powerful with age. It was then that Karen, an ordinary woman with a normal amount of bones, realized that by using the power of hate to rapidly age herself into the future she could become the realm's most powerful lich.
