Let's play nice. Unnecessarily rude and aggressive people will be blocked.

I have no interest in internet tough guy nonsense.
I, for one, look forward to people hoarding this thing in the expectation that it'll fund their retirement.

It’s time for new leadership

No, the available evidence was the WH/GOP was willing to watch it all burn down rather than compromise. Political Nihilism.

So of course, the rational response is to bend over and thank them for the kick in the backside.

No, wait, that can't be right....
Sincere question: does anybody have any evidence that the GOP/WH would have eventually folded and extended the ACA subsidies if the shutdown continued?

I haven’t seen any. The President didn’t seem to feeling any pressure. No GOP Senator AFAIK expressed any concern. (Some Reps did)

the bar has gotten so low since 2016...
Pay attention to what Democratic candidates are saying right now. Find and support the fighters. Having a spine must be a litmus test issue in 2026 and beyond.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

It's just cover because the ATCs aren't showing up.

Less chances of plants going down
I legit can’t figure out the play on these FAA flight cancellations. Who’s the White House trying to pressure. And who do they think people are gonna get mad at when Thanksgiving goes down the drain?

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 95th day out of the last 107.

12 days of work in 107 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

Today, my fellow Americans, we reaffirm that essential truth:

Throwing sandwiches at ICE isn't a crime.

I just want to remind everyone that when she was "at work" she didn't do anything.

But ok....
She's scootin' toward the center because trump told her she'd never win a state-wide election.
Marjorie Taylor Greene on The View (!!!): "The worst thing that I just can't get over is we're not working right now. And I put that criticism directly on the Speaker of the House. We should be at work."

Agreed - more Democrats need to be in front of cameras making this argument directly to the American people.

The party in power needs to be held accountable for EVERYTHING.
This is how.
Every Dem, please, this is how.
EVERYONE in the media, please!!
I love how Rep. Joe Neguse reframed this question.

I'm very privileged.

I will be able to say i watched many great careers, from the promise and ultimate *almost* that will be Mike Trout's reign as the next Mantle, to watching Aaron Judge defy physics nightly.

But watching Shohei Ohtani play baseball is the kind of magic that defies words.

this seems like a great time to remind everyone that Donald Trump funded - at least in part - his legal defense by taking donations from everyday Americans.

I don't think he's due a refund by any measure, but if one is given, shouldn't his donors get THEIR money back?

assuming, of course, they bothered to follow the injunction because, let's face it, what could a court really do to enforce the injunction at that point? make them rebuild the East Wing?

And when they refuse?

For those of you concerned with whether we're descending into lawlessness...
A district court would preliminarily enjoin the razing but SCOTUS would stay the PI and allow the razing to occur while litigation concerning the razing’s legality proceeds.
As a matter of current law, could the president just…knock down the entire White House? Just raze the whole thing to the ground?

If you're over the age of 12 and still going by "Chip" I already question your judgment.

But then there's Chip Roy, who never met a stupid statement he didn't want to say in front of hot mic.
Charlie Kirk's murder really has become a one-size-fits-all excuse for the right.

No matter what they want to do -- crack down on free speech, let Trump rule like a king, even gerrymander their states* -- they point to Kirk's assassination and pretend it was all about their current grievance.
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, & Charlie Kirk was willing to say it & he got killed for it."

I'm still not understanding how the White House can post an AI-created video of the POTUS, wearing a crown, literally shitting on Americans and it not be a big deal.

Like @nbcnews.com @cnn.com @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy (ok, CBS we know you're bought and paid for) what's the deal?

BUT
