Posts like these remind me that the journey of navigating mental illness isn't my own.
Medication doesn't make your depression disappear but it does help you manage it. Before I got on medication my depression controlled my life. I could barely get out of bed and was slipping into alcoholism.

But people either don’t notice (bc I do a good job of compartmentalizing in social situations) or those in my close circle love me through it. I just want a political movement that will explicitly, and forcefully advocate for the interests of urbanites, renters, and professionals the same way other groups do. Democrats and Communists alike are both basically embarrassed that this is their base and I’m sick of it.

if Trump walks the United States into disaster it would be absurd to claim that “we didn’t choose him” just because millions of people voted against him. we absolutely chose him. there’s this weird denial about the basic premise of democracy here that I find unsettling

I am sorry but Texas voted for Abbott and Trump by commanding margins. It is completely reasonable and fair to say that Texas chose to be governed by these people, and these people are showing they cannot govern. Refusing to point that out is counterproductive.
