Ogles: "It's important that we have a stake in Greenland, that they are quite frankly a protectorate of the US. They've been in relationship with Denmark - that needs to end. We've spilled more blood protecting Greenland than the Danes... we are the dominant predator force in the Western Hemisphere"

Putin might be the richest person in the world-- we can't know, so many of his assets are hidden-- because he's used the power of the Russian state to enrich himself and he's violently eliminated opposition. In the US we have a Congress that's just letting our petty wannabe Putin do it openly
This is the kind of thing that the Founders explicitly designed our constitution to prevent; a president who has seized wealth for his own benefit without any intervention from Congress, which in our system is supposed to be the holder of the power of the purse.

Tony Dokoupil has real Ron Burgundy 2026 vibes, like he would read anything off a teleprompter
Here's the clip of Tony Dokoupil ending tonight's broadcast by absolutely gushing over "ultimate Florida Man" Marco Rubio.

Someone asked me to comment on the anniversary of Jan 6. I will consider having comments on it….should it ever end. We are very much still reaching for the nadir of this reclamation. No time yet for historicizing it. Still trying to survive it.

Five years ago today, the United States Capitol was attacked in a violent insurrection incited by the President of the United States for one purpose: to overturn a free and fair election and cling to power in clear violation of the Constitution.

It's almost like working two hours a day on a podcast and spending the rest of your time shitposting is not good preparation for running a government agency
On his first day after leaving the FBI, Dan Bongino essentially confirms that he's going right back to podcasting and his radio show.

The construction company that had put up a billboard on I-20 praising Charlie Kirk's "message" has taken it down. How will we ever remember our history if we keep tearing down these monuments to the past?

I suppose for many academics it's nice that the AHA happens during their winter break but when you're on a very awkward quarter system this is just Week 4 and there is nothing relaxing or rejuvenating about it

It hurts my head too but keeping in mind that this administration has a terrible grasp of economics and is basically a bunch of overly emotional men settling grudges squares things a little.
The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

It's possible I don't know anything but it would seem that one way to transform an unpopular authoritarian leader into a symbol of national unity and resolve would be to brazenly violate his country's sovereignty by kidnapping him
