Maybe it's just me, but even if my free, unmonetized, charity-sponsoring video was theoretically paid for by my little-used Patreon (because Patreon is in no way my leading source of income), it would sure be weird to have worked for like 8 months on an 11-hour video and only get like $20.

There should be fair use exceptions for small unmonetized accounts. People using and enjoying ones content helps the artist as long as someone isn't profiting off of them

It should be fandom. Fandom should be our silly little unmonetized hobby purely for fun. But here we are in professional zine business corporatized fandom Genshittification hell and I’m so mad about it.
Please make sure that you have at least one hobby that isn’t monetized, just something silly, healing for fun. Not everything has to make money ✨

So the hobbyists who'd made the internet great now had the prospect of getting a ton of money from a VC, which was obviously enticing, and it was understandable that so many jumped at it. But that came with strings, and those strings destroyed the unmonetized communities ecosystem from before.

Yeah, however leaving them unmonetized should be fine for 99% of music copyright issues and being that twitch VODs are unmonetized anyway it’s not really a loss.
