You know you're a SCAdian who hauls friends' kids to events when.. you ask for the transpo/medical waiver by rote and the group organizer's blank stare horrifies you. I grabbed a copy off the SCA document library, edited to suit, and got them signed & notarized.

I've known a good many people with genuine Norse personas, but they don't look or act like stereotypical Vikings because they know better.

It should be noted that in Wyrd Sisters, a king is crowned. Besides those portraying Royalty in the SCA, this is the only place I would tolerate such things (let alone celebrate them). Scadian royalty is usually worth celebrating! But American? We fought wars over that. No thank you. #NoKings

AKAIK, that is just a long-standing rumor. At least one Scadian did a FOIA request, and we were just listed as people with a better chance at surviving large scale disasters.

I actually got into an argument with another SCAdian about how Semiautomatic is a Native American word for shitty hunter. His argument is he needed is AR/AK/HK for hunting because deer shrug off getting hit. My dad hunted for years with a bolt action .270 and would do fine.

spent 3hrs yesterday hitting a tree with a stick and occasionally asking scadian knights for advice on how to rotate my ankle correctly and sit and this was actually great. I've been doing swords slightly wrong for eighteen years and getting away with it by being fast but now I'm old and slow 😅

I really need to redo my recording of Loki's Song. It's by a dead SCAdian, has never been professionally released AFAICT, & mine seems to be 1 of only 2 recordings of it online not counting the instrumental MIDI included with the lyrics. The other is a YouTube video with a lot of wind noise.
