I built my career on Ruby on Rails and I had a fascist and billionaire buddy say I along with 150 other people should never be hired again and have the ability to make that possible.

Sorry that people don't like your autocomplete.

I think, perhaps, it's time to finally dip into Ruby, and then on to Ruby on Rails. #programming #computers #web

Reminder that Pinball Map code is open source. If you're looking to contribute, we have a list of app issues (react native) github.com/pinballmap/p...

and a few website issues (ruby on rails) github.com/pinballmap/p...

We're on the fence about some of those website ones, but the app has good ones

One game that changed my life was SimCity 2000. It shaped how I think about building products - before I even knew the term. Just published a new blog post about how it impacted me.

o was using ruby on rails to scrape all nba game data from espn including all the play by play. i was able to figure out daily standings and some home road splits. but then i was like what do i do to make it usable. would have had to learn statistics. massive regex. and ui skills sucked

Nerds like to say Ruby on Rails

Fizzy source code is amazing. All I expected from a Vanilla Rails app. Regular controllers, regular models. No fancy architecture. It uses import maps and vanilla CSS, so all we need to run it locally is Ruby. The app is very colorful and vibrant, view transitions make it feel so good. Hotwire FTW.

ヒトが書いてた時はタイプ量が少ないRailsが生産性に寄与したがAIがコード書くなら関係ない。型があり読みやすいなど他にメリットの多いGoにした。みたいな話。なるほど。

Hell, Ruby on Rails' whole big thing was "convention over configuration."

Even developers know that you gotta be opinionated in how things *should* work, because basically that's the only way they *will* work except for a handful of nosy weirdos.

It was a choice to turn this setting off by default
