I just wanted to do like a 15 minute mockup for a future HO model and instead spent an entire afternoon revamping a really old and bad dupe I had. Fuck my dumb foamer life

Montreal Archives Time:

There used to be a GIGANTIC railyard stretching from what today is the "Quartier international" to Lionel-Groulx metro in the 60s.

It was dismantled in the late 70s and replaced by a residential neighbourhood in the mid 80s.

What is "Sparks on the Horizon":

(Chorus)
Sparks on the horizon, shining through the night,
Silver state heartbeat, burning oh so bright,
From the railyard echoes to the rodeo crowd,
Sparks, Nevada, you make us proud.

The Waldorf-Astoria is perhaps New York's most prominent monument to jazz age luxury and glamor. It's been the traditional residence for US presidents and foreign heads of state when in town (the "presidential suite" was meant rather literally there).

Built over the below-grade railyard of […]

There's this weird looking two-axle hopper car in a nearby railyard; it's for MOW to spread gravel over railroad ties. It's about the same length as this.

The hopper, the BURRO and an old Plymouth switcher to haul them is a lotto-winner dream.

These are really pretty! If that's Boylan Bridge that place always gives such a nice view of downtown and the railyard. :)

Maybe sometime this year. I also know some people making various testing stuff from physical track checkers that span a railyard to DCC short testers on virtual circuit board design sites. Definitely interested but DCC is down the road... just made (most of) a backup analog controller.

On Christmas Eve, Post Malone stopped into The Railyard in Houston with friends.
Their drinks were already covered, but he asked to be charged $1 so he could leave a tip.
He quietly left $20,000 for the bartender, a single mom working two jobs.

The church definitely looks off, and that railyard might be in Freeport, but I know one of the people in that first picture. He lives in Lake Jackson. It’s at the Elizabethan madrigal…thing (I forget what it’s called) that the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences (in Clute) puts on every year

It wasnt aerial bombardment of civilian areas, aerial bombardment in WWII (or even after) wasnt accurate enough for that. The initial target of the raids was the railyard being used for military logistics in the center of Dresden.
