Non engineer here I'm looking for a vacuum fryer and so far the only ones available to buy are large, industrial machines. Is there some technical consideration that makes small scale machines economically unfeasible? I found someone in the Philippines that has a company that makes ecological equipment (water pumps, solar, etc.). His vacuum frier looks to be about the size of a barbeque grill. I asked him to make some fried turnips for me and his video of the results looked very good. I've agreed to purchase a frier from him for under $2000 including shipping. I have no idea how long it will take but I'm optimistic. The fryer in the video on the Facebook page above was too small (11 pounds capacity). The cost for that model was about $1500 plus shipping of about $300 from the Philippines. I opted for a larger model (30 pound capacity) which will be about $3100 plus about $500 shipping. I made sure he makes it for US power so it will be 220v, 60Hz. It will take about 3 weeks to manufacture and a month or month and a half to ship. If anyone wants any more details let me know. The_new_Todd • 4y ago Here is a quick update. I have the vacuum frier. Everything works as intended. The vacuum chamber went down to about -25 to - 27psi after I started the water pump. I attempted one small batch of chips and found that my burner was too hot. This was a combination of the burner, small amount of oil and rutabagas in the chamber etc. Long story short, I burned the crap out of them. Turned them to charcoal. So I'm making some upgrades to my other equipment (slicer, burner, etc) and will do another batch in the next couple of weeks. Will post an update as soon as I have it. While Germany in the 1920s-30s wrapped itself in slogans and promises of renewal, Hoerle focused on what remained behind those promises: damaged bodies, discarded veterans, and the quiet wreckage of a society trying to reinvent itself through force. His art functioned like a diagnostic tool, revealing structural failures long before they became undeniable. He grew up in Cologne, a city that was less like an artistic scene and more like a frontline : politically charged, socially unstable, and saturated with competing visions of the future. Hoerle wasn’t drawn to beauty for its own sake. He was drawn to consequences - to the human cost behind ideologies - to the real, not the promised. His figures became his signature: angular, mechanical, almost engineered rather than drawn. Humans reshaped into components: half-organic, half-industrial. Out of precision. Hoerle refused to sentimentalize. He stripped the human form to what remained after war, poverty, and propaganda had taken their share. The visual language that felt both minimal and mercilessly accurate. Hoerle’s stark imagery wasn’t chaotic or pessimistic; it was composed. He understood that aesthetics could carry political weight. His works look like blueprints for a society that treats people as replaceable parts. Chilling, and unmistakably contemporary. Part of the Cologne Progressives, Hoerle helped build a movement where social critique and formal innovation were inseparable. This was an attempt to fuse art, politics, and responsibility. Hoerle’s contribution stood out because his truthfulness made his work impossible to weaponize. No surprise, then, that the Nazis classified him as “degenerate.” He died in 1936. Heinrich Hoerle turned honesty into form, and form into a warning. No embellishment. No surrender. I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. The man I supported and helped get elected. Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type rhetoric being directed at me right now. This time by the President of the United States. As a woman I take threats from men seriously. I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel. As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump's bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid, this is completely shocking to everyone. i have thoughts on minecraft again i'm workshopping an idea for an SMP as y'all know i don't like the meta. it's tiring and kinda set in stone and unimaginative and minecraft can be so much more than that so i was thinking of bringing in a principle to the way that things are done in the world as you play something like, "mother nature was kind to me so i must be kind to her as well" restricting yourself to not do anything industrial in nature, or if you do stuff that's bigger scale then you have to dedicate it to making the natural world better as well it has to not just be of your own benefit ofc that's gonna be debatable in terms of if you do or don't follow the one rule. it's meant to be vague so you can insert your own morality into it and allow for more interesting play styles but then i also got an idea to spice it up what if there was an opposing faction which exclusively did things immorally kjshbdfjh basically doing the meta except you're not allowed to benefit from natural resources the same way the first faction does you have to exploit the fuck out of the little you're given and then pillage and destroy everything else in your path admittedly i'm kinda hazy on what that would imply other than making industrial farms and being carnivorous

"Snowball in Hell" colored pencil and gouache on paper ----- [from Wikipedia] ----- Early in his career, Miller worked in more traditional media, primarily oil painting, acrylic painting and printmaking. In the early 1990s, while working as the art director for In Pittsburgh Newsweekly, he co-founded the Industrial Arts Co-op. The activist collective experimented with trash or junk art, a subset of found object art made from objects and materials that have been thrown away. The group broke into abandoned buildings, mostly steel mills, where they exhibited art made from scavenged materials. Miller collected linoleum that had been thrown into dumpsters and, using pieces of linoleum, created framed portraits, landscapes and other works. Miller's initial showings at exhibits in Pittsburgh and elsewhere generated Interest in his linoleum works. In 1997, he relocated to New York, where he was art director of the weekly Long Island Voice and, after it folded, a designer at The Village Voice. He continued to work in linoleum during this time, and by 2002 was concentrating fulltime on producing art from discarded linoleum. Miller has cited Vincent van Gogh and Salvador Dalí as among his influences. His early themes were often dark, influenced by deaths in his family and the decline of the industrial cities in which Miller lived. As his work evolved, he branched out thematically. He produced landscapes, still-life studies, religious themed art, portraits of rock stars (notably The Beatles and Frank Zappa) and depictions of major events such as the sinking of the Titanic and the attack on the Twin Towers in New York. His portraits of Mothers of Invention founder Frank Zappa attracted the attention of Zappa’s wife, Gail Zappa, resulting in the commissioning of two album covers by Miller, Congress Shall Make No Law..., and Finer Moments. He created the poster image for the 2012 Woodstock Film Festival.
