If you’re a porridge person may I recommend getting one of the many jars (with lid) you know you’ve got in your cupboard and fill it with dark molasses sugar and a hefty dose of cinnamon, shake it up and then keep it as an instant, delicious topping. Even better is adding dark chocolate chips too.

If you’re a porridge person may I recommend getting one of the many jars (with lid) you know you’ve got in your cupboard and fill it with dark molasses sugar and a hefty dose of cinnamon, shake it up and then keep it as an instant, delicious topping. Even better is adding dark chocolate chips too.

That’s a classic. Was reminiscing with an old friend this Christmas about how in 91 we would stay up wrecked watching the Iraq invasion happen, fuelled by Gulf War Porridge. This was granola, smashed chocolate digestives and Whisk and Serve instant custard in a big bowl.

Morning. Just finished my second cup now after being awake far too early. Now having breakfast. Porridge as it's so blinking cold out. Beautiful moon still out when I went to let hens out into outdoor run. Snow forecast to start shortly but sky still looks fairly clear atm. A day for staying in.
